多项选择题测验信度的一个估计方法及其应用

在多项选择题测验分数等于真实分数和猜测分数之和的假设模型下，本文得到了一个多项选择题测验信度的理论公式，并由此给出了测验信度的估计方法。最后，通过两个例子，说明了本文提出的方法在测验信度分析中的应用，并将这种方法与教育测量中常用的库德——理查逊方法（Ｋｕｄｅｒ－Ｒｉｃｈａｒｄｓｏｎ）进行了比较     

一类非线性算子方程的多重正解及其应用

本文利用不动点指数理论对一类非线性算子方程建立了多重正解的存在性定理，并将所获结果应用到Ｈａｍｍｅｒｓｔｅｉｎ积分方程和Ｓｔｕｒｍ Ｌｉｏｕｖｉｌｅ两点边值问题，得到了新的结论，本质上改进和推广了［２，４，５，６，８－１２］的工作．     

在重力场和磁场影响下自旋刚性航天器的周期运动

考虑重力场和磁场对轴对称航天器本体的影响，研究其质心在圆形轨道上的运动,通过降低系统的运动方程数，并将它变成为一个带电粒子在电磁场作用下的平面运动．确认系统运动是稳定的，并通过Liapunov全纯积分定理，构建其近似的周期运动.     

A goal programming approach to strategic resource allocation in acute care hospitals

This paper describes a methodology for allocating resources in hospitals. The methodology uses two linear goal-programming models. One model sets case mix and volume for physicians, while holding service costs fixed; the other translates case mix decisions into a commensurate set of practice changes for physicians. The models allow decision makers to set case mix and case costs in such a way that the institution is able to break even, while preserving physician income and minimizing disturbance to practice. The models also permit investigation of trade-offs between case mix and physician practice parameters. Results are presented from a decision-making scenario facing the surgical division of Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital after the announcement of a 3-year, 18% reduction in funding.     

Application of the stabilization method to interacting resonances

The stabilization method is applied to the case of interacting resonances in the photo-dissociation of van der Waals clusters composed by a rare gas atom bound to a dihalogen molecule. The study of an illustrative two-dimensional model consisting in a T-shaped NeI₂ molecule shows the adequacy of the method whenever the projection of the stabilization wave functions on the assumed prepared initial state is accounted for. The agreement of the fragmentation cross-sections with some previous results using the effective resolvent method and accurate close-coupling calculations is excellent. The method reveals its utility as a complementary tool since allows, through the analysis of the stabilization wave function in terms of zero-order levels, a precise characterization of the resonant states involved. Multiparametric Evaluation of Dysphonic Severity

SUMMARY: In recent years, the multiparametric approach for evaluating perceptual rating of voice quality has been advocated. This study evaluates the accuracy of predicting perceived overall severity of voice quality with a minimal set of aerodynamic, voice range profile (phonetogram), and acoustic perturbation measures. One hundred and twelve dysphonic persons (93 women and 19 men) with laryngeal pathologies and 41 normal controls (35 women and six men) with normal voices participated in this study. Perceptual severity judgement was carried out by four listeners rating the G (overall grade) parameter of the GRBAS scale. The minimal set of instrumental measures was selected based on the ability of the measure to discriminate between dysphonic and normal voices, and to attain at least a moderate correlation with perceived overall severity. Results indicated that perceived overall severity was best described by maximum phonation time of sustained /a/, peak intraoral pressure of the consonant-vowel /pi/ strings production, voice range profile area, and acoustic jitter. Direct-entry discriminant function analysis revealed that these four voice measures in combination correctly predicted 67.3% of perceived overall severity levels.     

Matrix Lax Polynomials, Geometry of Prym Varieties and Systems of Hess–Appel’rot Type

We consider a four-dimensional generalization of Hess–Appel’rot system and costruct its Lax pair. Both classical and algebro-geometric integration procedure are proceeded. The algebro-geometric integration is based on deep facts from geometry of Prym varieties such as the Mumford relation and Mumford-Dalalyan theory. The integration is similar to the integration of Lagrange bitop which has recetly been performed by the authors.     

Wellposedness for the Navier–Stokes flow in the exterior of a rotating obstacle

In this paper we study the Navier–Stokes boundary‐initial value problem in the exterior of a rotating obstacle, in two and three spatial dimensions. We prove the local in time existence and uniqueness of strong solutions. Moreover, we show that the solutions are global in time, in two spatial dimensions. Discrete storage processes and their Poisson flow and fluid flow approximations

Consider discrete storage processes that are modulated by environmental processes. Environmental processes cause interruptions in the input and/or output processes of the discrete storage processes. Due to the difficulties encountered in the exact analysis of such discrete storage systems, often Poisson flow and/or fluid flow models with the same modulating environmental processes are proposed as approximations for these systems. The analysis of Poisson flow and fluid flow models is much easier than that of the discrete storage processes. In this paper we give sufficient conditions under which the content of the discrete storage processes can be bounded by the Poisson flow and the fluid flow models. For example, we show that Poisson flow models and the fluid flow models developed by Kosten (and by Anick, Mitra and Sondhi) can be used to bound the performance of infinite (finite) source packetized voice/data communication systems. We also show that a Poisson flow model and the fluid flow model developed by Mitra can be used to bound the buffer content of a two stage automatic transfer line. The potential use of the bounding techniques presented in this paper, of course, transcends well beyond these examples.Supported in part by NSF grant DMS-9308149.
