Boundaries for algebras of holomorphic functions

Let A_u(B_G) be the Banach algebra of all complex valued functions defined on the closed unit ball B_G of a complex Banach space G which are uniformly continuous on B_G and holomorphic in the interior of B_G, endowed with the sup norm. A characterization of the boundaries for A_u(B_G) is given in case G belongs to a class of Banach spaces that includes the pre-dual of a Lorentz sequence space studied by Gowers in Israel J. Math. 69 (1990) 129-151. The non-existence of the Shilov boundary for A_u(B_G) is also proved.     

Classes of analytic functions subordinate to convex functions and extreme points

In this paper we prove two sufficient conditions for an analytic function f to be an extreme point of the set of functions subordinate to a given convex mapping F when the image of the unit disk under F is a convex domain other than a half-plane, a strip or an infinite wedge.     

A nonterminating 8φ7 summation for the root system Cr

Using multiple q-integrals and a determinant evaluation, we establish a nonterminating ₈φ₇ summation for the root system C_r. We also give some important specializations explicitly.     

Fixed point of multivalued mapping in uniform spaces

In this paper we prove some new fixed point theorems for multivalued mappings on orbitally complete uniform spaces.     

Exposed points and extremal problems in H1 on a bidisc

An essential bounded function ? gives a continuous linear functional on the Hardy space H¹ on the bitorus. In this paper, we consider extremal problems on H¹ when ? is a rational function, ? is a product of one variable functions or ? = |f|/f for some outer function f in H¹ such that f(z, w) has a good property with respect to w for a.e. z. Some time change representations of stable integrals, via predictable transformations of local martingales

From the predictable reduction of a marked point process to Poisson, we derive a similar reduction theorem for purely discontinuous martingales to processes with independent increments. Both results are then used to examine the existence of stochastic integrals with respect to stable Lévy processes, and to prove a variety of time change representations for such integrals. The Knight phenomenon, where possibly dependent but orthogonal processes become independent after individual time changes, emerges as a general principle.     

Complete convergence for arrays

Let {(X _nk , 1≤k≤n),n≥1}, be an array of rowwise independent random variables. We extend and generalize some recent results due to Hu, Móricz and Taylor concerning complete convergence, in the sense of Hsu and Robbins, of the sequence of rowwise arithmetic means.     

Nonlinear multiple objective optimization: An algorithm and some theory

This paper presents an algorithm and the supporting theory for solving a class of nonlinear multiple criteria optimization problems using Zionts—Wallenius type of interaction. The Zionts—Wallenius method, as extended in this paper, can be used for solving multiple criteria problems with concave objective and (implicit) value functions and convex feasible regions. Modifications of the method to handle nonconvex feasible regions and general nonlinear objective functions are also discussed.This research was supported, in part, by a Faculty Research Development Award and by a Council of 100 Research Grant from Arizona State University (Roy), and by a grant from Y. The Skorohod integral and the derivative operator of functional of a cylindrical Brownian motion

The paper presents a definition of the Skorohod integral of operator-valued processes and the derivative operator for functional of a cylindrical Brownian motionW on a Hilbert space. 本文利用迭加原理,给出了点简支正交各向异性短形薄板弯曲问题的封闭的级数式解答.简支点的位置和横向载荷的分布均可任意.用本文的级数解给出的算例与以往的数值解是十分一致的.
