Airy-type asymptotic representations of a class of special functions are considered from a numerical point of view. It is well known that the evaluation of the coefficients of the asymptotic series near the transition point is a difficult problem. We discuss two methods for computing the asymptotic series. One method is based on expanding the coefficients of the asymptotic series in Maclaurin series. In the second method we consider auxiliary functions that can be computed more efficiently than the coefficients in the first method, and we do not need the tabulation of many coefficients. The methods are quite general, but the paper concentrates on Bessel functions, in particular on the differential equation of the Bessel functions, which has a turning point character when order and argument of the Bessel functions are equal. 相似文献

This article is concerned with a boundary-field equation approach to a class of boundary value problems exterior to a thin domain. A prototype of this kind of problems is the interaction problem with a thin elastic structure. We are interested in the asymptotic behavior of the solution when the thickness of the elastic structure approaches to zero. In particular, formal asymptotic expansions will be developed, and their rigorous justification will be considered. As will be seen, the construction of these formal expansions hinges on the solutions of a sequence of exterior Dirichlet problems, which can be treated by employing boundary element methods. On the other hand, the justification of the corresponding formal procedure requires an independence on the thickness of the thin domain for the constant in the Korn inequality. It is shown that in spite of the reduction of the dimensionality of the domain under consideration, this class of problems are, in general, not singular perturbation problems, because of appropriate interface conditions. 相似文献

We study the minimization of a quadratic functional where the Tichonov regularization term is an H s -norm with a fractional s > 0. Moreover, pointwise bounds for the unknown solution are given. A multilevel approach as an equivalent norm concept is introduced. We show higher regularity of the solution of the variational inequality. This regularity is used to show the existence of regular Lagrange multipliers in function space. We describe two new methods for locating the dew/bubble curves of fluids. One is a numerical method and the other an analytical method based on the use of series expansions. The utility of these two methods is illustrated by application to a simple one-component fluid model and to several model polydisperse fluids. The numerical method is based on a new geometric representation of the equilibrium conditions-similar in spirit to the geometric representations often used for solving the equilibrium conditions of pure fluids. Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) sampling scheme which is motivated by applications in multi-channel deconvolution and multi-source separation has been investigated in many aspects. Common for most of results on MIMO systems is that the input signals are supposed to be band-limited. In this paper, we study vector sampling expansions on general finitely generated shift-invariant subspaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a vector sampling theorem to hold are given. In this paper, we first establish some user‐friendly versions of fixed‐point theorems for the sum of two operators in the setting that the involved operators are not necessarily compact and continuous. These fixed‐point results generalize, encompass, and complement a number of previously known generalizations of the Krasnoselskii fixed‐point theorem. Next, with these obtained fixed‐point results, we study the existence of solutions for a class of transport equations, the existence of global solutions for a class of Darboux problems on the first quadrant, the existence and/or uniqueness of periodic solutions for a class of difference equations, and the existence and/or uniqueness of solutions for some kind of perturbed Volterra‐type integral equations.
