This work presents an eye-tracking and pupil size-measuring device that interfaces with a computer for applications useful in psychometry, ophthalmology, physiology and virtual reality (VR) systems. This system utilizes a change-coupled device (CCD) camera, appropriate lenses, PC with frame grabber and a DSP unit with various types of VR equipment, i.e., HMD, simulator or LCD projection device. The digital signal processing unit is used to calculate the average brightness and contrast of the VR video image. A CCD camera with various attachments can be mounted on various VR systems to capture the human eye image for testing. An image capture card and a personal computer are used to analyze the test image. From the eye digital image, the computer obtains data on the pupil size and a trace of the tested eye. A pattern recognition computer program and five measurement parameters are used to distinguish the position of the pupil, calculate the pupil location coordinate and analyze the physical conditions of the user. These data can be plotted against the average brightness and contrast of the VR video image in real time. This information is shown on the screen of a personal computer and used for cross-link analysis. This eye-tracking interface can determine the position of a subject's pupil and map that position into a display point on a computer screen. A bistable optical device was demonstrated by using the longitudinal mode hopping of the laser diode and the narrow transmission spectrum of an interference filter. The device is capable of converting changes in the wavelength of the laser diode into changes in intensity by transmitting it through the filter. Exclusive OR operation was observed with the use of triple signal outputs. Two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) with fascinating electronic energy band structures, rich valley physical properties and strong spin–orbit coupling have attracted tremendous interest, and show great potential in electronic, optoelectronic, spintronic and valleytronic fields. Stacking 2D TMDs have provided unprecedented opportunities for constructing artificial functional structures. Due to the low cost, high yield and industrial compatibility, chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is regarded as one of the most promising growth strategies to obtain high-quality and large-area 2D TMDs and heterostructures. Here, state-of-the-art strategies for preparing TMDs details of growth control and related heterostructures construction via CVD method are reviewed and discussed, including wafer-scale synthesis, phase transition, doping, alloy and stacking engineering. Meanwhile, recent progress on the application of multi-functional devices is highlighted based on 2D TMDs. Finally, challenges and prospects are proposed for the practical device applications of 2D TMDs. 相似文献

In this paper, the mechanisms of natural-convection heat transfer inside a nonuniform finite annulus have been numerically investigated. The system is actually a streamlined, water-filled latex balloon with a coaxial cylindrical heating element. The balloon can be applied as a local hyperthermia treatment device for the removal of undesirable tissue if sufficiently high temperatures and preferably uniform surface heat fluxes can be maintained. A validated control-volume-based method has been employed to solve the coupled transient three-dimensional transport equations for laminar free convection. The effects of heat-source temperature distributions and device orientations on the heat transfer have been studied. Possible design improvements of this device are discussed. 相似文献

A diruthenium complex with a redox‐active amine bridge has been designed, synthesized, and studied by single‐crystal X‐ray analysis and DFT and TDDFT calculations. It shows three well‐separated redox processes with exclusive near‐infrared (NIR) absorbance at each redox state. The electropolymerized film of a related vinyl‐functionalized complex displays multistate NIR electrochromism with low operational potential, good contrast ratio, and long retention time. Flip‐flop, flip‐flap‐flop, and ternary memories have been realized by using the obtained film (ca. 15–20 nm thick) with three electrochemical inputs and three NIR optical outputs that each displays three levels of signal intensity. 相似文献

We reported here for the first time on the use of cotton thread combined with novel gold nanoparticle trimer reporter probe for low-cost, sensitive and rapid detection of a lung cancer related biomarker, human ferritin. A model system comprising ferritin as an analyte and a pair of monoclonal antibodies was used to demonstrate the proof-of-concept on the dry-reagent natural cotton thread immunoassay device. Results indicated that the using of novel gold nanoparticle trimer reporter probe greatly improved the sensitivity comparing with traditional gold nanoparticle reporter probe on the cotton thread immunoassay device. The assay avoids multiple incubation and washing steps performed in most conventional protein analyses. Although qualitative tests are realized by observing the color change of the test zone, quantitative data are obtained by recording the optical responses of the test zone with a commercial scanner and corresponding analysis software. Under optimal conditions, the cotton thread immunoassay device was capable of measuring 10 ng/mL human ferritin under room temperature which is sensitive enough for clinical diagnosis. Moreover, the sample solution employed in the assays is just 8 μL, which is much less than traditional lateral flow strip based biosensors. 相似文献
