The 2-extendability of 5-connected graphs on surfaces with large representativity

A graph with at least 2k+2 vertices is said to be k-extendable if any independent set of k edges in it extends to a perfect matching. We shall show that every 5-connected graph G of even order embedded on a closed surface F², except the sphere, is 2-extendable if ρ(G)?7−2χ(F²), where ρ(G) stands for the representativity of G on F² and χ(F²) for the Euler characteristic of F².     

A class of pseudo‐parabolic equations: existence,uniqueness of weak solutions,and error estimates for the Euler‐implicit discretization

In this paper, we investigate a class of pseudo‐parabolic equations. Such equations model two‐phase flow in porous media where dynamic effects are included in the capillary pressure. The existence and uniqueness of a weak solution are proved, and error estimates for an Euler implicit time discretization are obtained. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Existence and uniqueness of a classical solution for the coupled heat and mass transfer during the freezing of high‐water content materials

A recent model for the coupled problem of heat and mass transfer during the solidification of high‐water content materials like soils, foods, tissues and phase‐change materials was developed. This model takes into account the role played by material properties and process variables on the advance of freezing and sublimation fronts, temperature and water vapour profiles and weight loss. The goal of this paper is to determine the existence of a unique local classical solution for the corresponding two‐phase coupled free boundary problem in an adequate functional space. A Pseudo-parabolic Type Equation with Nonlinear Sources

This paper is concerned with the existence and uniqueness of nonnegative classical solutions to the initial-boundary value problems for the pseudo-parabolic equation with strongly nonlinear sources. Furthermore, we discuss the asymptotic behavior of solutions as the viscosity coefficient k tends to zero.     

EXISTENCE AND UNIQUENESS OF SOLUTIONS TO A NONLINEAR FRACTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION

The initial value problem of a nonlinear fractional differential equation is discussed in this paper. Using the nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type and the contraction mapping principle,we obtain the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the fractional differential equation,which extend some results of the previous papers.     

Existence and uniqueness of positive radial solutions for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations

The existence and uniqueness of positive radial solutions of the equations of the type [IML0001] in B_R, p>1 with Dirichlet condition are proved for λ large enough and f satisfying a condition[IML0002] is non-decreasing on [IML0003] It is also proved that all the positive solutions in C₁ ⁰(B^R) of the above equations are radially symmetric solutions for f satisfying [IML0004] and λ large enough.
