In the present paper, our main purposes are to study nonlinear elliptic equations with strong resonance at infinity. Some existence theorems for nontrivial solutions are obtained by using some nonsmooth critical point theorems in [N. C. Kourogenis, N. S. Papageorgiou, Nonsmooth critical point theory and Nonlinear elliptic equations at resonance, J. Austral. Math Soc. (Ser. A) 69 (2000) 245–271]. The two of our theorems generalize Theorems 0.1 and 5.2 in [P. Bartolo, V. Benci, D. Fortunato, Abstract critical point theorems and applications to some nonlinear problems with “strong” resonance at infinity, Nonlinear Anal. TMA 7 (1983) 981–1012] to nonsmooth cases. Almost transitive superreflexive Banach spaces have been considered in [C. Finet, Uniform convexity properties of norms on superreflexive Banach spaces, Israel J. Math. 53 (1986) 81–92], where it is shown that they are uniformly convex and uniformly smooth. We characterize such spaces as those convex transitive Banach spaces satisfying conditions much weaker than that of uniform convexity (for example, that of having a weakly locally uniformly rotund point). We note that, in general, the property of convex transitivity for a Banach space is weaker than that of almost transitivity. 相似文献

In this paper, we prove a general version of Ekeland's variational principle in locally convex spaces, where perturbations contain subadditive functions of topology generating seminorms and nonincreasing functions of the objective function. From this, we obtain a number of special versions of Ekeland's principle, which include all the known extensions of the principle in locally convex spaces. Given a family of graphs , a graph is called edge-minimal (vertex-minimal) if for every subgraph (induced subgraph) G′ of G; furthermore, G is called locally edge-minimal (locally vertex-minimal) if whenever G′ is obtained from G by deleting an edge (a vertex). Similarly, the concepts of minimality and local minimality are introduced for directed graphs (digraphs) and, more generally, for partially ordered sets.For example, by the Strong Perfect Graph Theorem, the only vertex-minimal graphs with χ>ω are odd holes and anti-holes. In contrast, the only locally vertex-minimal graphs with χ>ω are partitionable graphs. Somewhat surprisingly, there are infinitely many non-trivial perfect graphs that are locally edge-minimal and -maximal simultaneously. In other words, such a graph is perfect but it becomes imperfect after any edge is deleted from or added to it.In this paper we consider vertex- and edge-minimal and locally minimal graphs in the following families: (i) perfect and imperfect graphs, (ii) graphs with χ=ω and with χ>ω, (iii) digraphs that have a kernel and kernel-free digraphs, and finally, (iv) vertex-minimal complementary connected d-graphs. 相似文献
