New inequalities for subspace arrangements

For each positive integer n?4, we give an inequality satisfied by rank functions of arrangements of n subspaces. When n=4 we recover Ingleton's inequality; for higher n the inequalities are all new. These inequalities can be thought of as a hierarchy of necessary conditions for a (poly)matroid to be realizable. Some related open questions about the “cone of realizable polymatroids” are also presented.     

Generalized commutators for Marcinkiewicz type integrals with variable kernels

Let A be a function with derivatives of order m and D γ A ∈■β (0 < β < 1, |γ| = m). The authors in the paper prove that if Ω(x, z) ∈ L ∞ (R n ) × L s (S n 1 ) (s ≥ n/(n β)) is homogenous of degree zero and satisfies the mean value zero condition about the variable z, then both the generalized commutator for Marcinkiewicz type integral μ A Ω and its variation μ A Ω are bounded from L p (R n ) to L q (R n ), where 1 < p < n/β and 1/q = 1/p β/n. The authors also consider the boundedness of μ A Ω and its variation μ A Ω on Hardy spaces.     

Integrals containing products of Airy functions and planar photon propagation in a magnetic field

We derive a number of new results on integrals of products of Airy functions, using various integral transform techniques. As an application, we deduce a compact integral representation, suitable for numerical integration, of the one‐loop photon propagator in a magnetic field in 2 + 1 dimensional scalar quantum electrodynamics. Spatial pseudoanalytic functions arising from the factorization of linear second order elliptic operators

Biquaternionic Vekua‐type equations arising from the factorization of linear second order elliptic operators are studied. Some concepts from classical pseudoanalytic function theory are generalized onto the considered spatial case. The derivative and antiderivative of a spatial pseudoanalytic function are introduced and their applications to the second order elliptic equations are considered. Thompson＇s Group F and the Linear Group GL∞（Z）

The authors study the finite decomposition complexity of metric spaces of H, equipped with different metrics, where H is a subgroup of the linear group GL_∞(ℤ). It is proved that there is an injective Lipschitz map φ: (F, d _S ) → (H, d), where F is the Thompson’s group, dS the word-metric of F with respect to the finite generating set S and d a metric of H. But it is not a proper map. Meanwhile, it is proved that φ: (F, d _S ) → (H, d ₁) is not a Lipschitz map, where d ₁ is another metric of H.     

UNIVERSAL INTERPOLATING SEQUENCES ON SPACES OF ANALYTIC FUNCTIONS

This article derives the relation between universal interpolating sequences and some spectral properties of the multiplication operator by the independent variable z in case the underlying space is a Hilbert space of functions analytic on the open unit disk.     

A Criterion of Normality Concerning Holomorphic Functions Whose Derivative Omits a Function

The authors discuss the normality concerning holomorphic functions and get the following result. Let F be a family of holomorphic functions on a domain D ⊂ ℂ, all of whose zeros have multiplicity at least k, where k ≥ 2 is an integer. And let h(z) ≢ 0 be a holomorphic function on D. Assume also that the following two conditions hold for every f ∈ F: (a) f(z) = 0 ⇒ |f ^(k)(z)| < |h(z)|; (b) f ^(k)(z) ≠ h(z). Then F is normal on D.
