In multiply bonded, weakly interacting systems the excessive electron repulsion associated with the non-dynamical correlation error can be reduced within the Hartree Fock approximation by localizing the bonding orbitals. The mechanism behind this (unphysical) orbital localization is studied through calculations on a model system, and SCF and CI calculations on the MnO+ ion. It is shown, from a pair-population analysis of the two-particle density matrix (which is analogous to a Mulliken population analysis of the one-density) that the orbital localization is a two-electron effect. Transition metal molecules often exhibit this kind of orbital localization which may (or may not) require symmetry breaking. The special characteristics of transition metal molecules that makes them suitable candidates for orbital localization will be discussed. 相似文献

of a semidiscrete approximation plus an integration. In addition to the pulse-envelope type of moving modes which have been
found previously both analytically and numerically, we find that a kink-envelope type of moving mode which has not been reported
before can also exist for such a lattice system. The two types of modes in both right- and left-moving form can occur with

Nanomaterials and their applications were studied extensively over the past few decades due to their properties which are associated mainly with the nanoscale sizes and unique characteristics that they have. Among many applications, these nanomaterials have been playing great, multifaceted roles in increasing the analytical performances of electrochemiluminescence (ECL). In this article, we review the main possible approaches – based on nanoparticles – to modify the photophysical properties of the excited state generated as a consequence of the electrochemical stimulus and in particular taking profit of the so-called metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF) and resonance energy transfer (RET) processes. Efficient nanochemosensors designed by electron beam lithography and based on localized surface plasmon resonance excited on noble metal nanocylinders are presented. Using localized surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy, we report here a high sensitivity corresponding to a density of about 18 × 10−21 mol of adsorbate per nanocylinders, we present the results obtained with gold and silver nanoparticles. This detection corresponds to less than one monolayer of molecules adsorbate on the nanoparticle. Additionally a subsequent layers deposition of polyelectrolytes is used to detect very thin polymer films. Although the results presented in this work are far from conclusive, the advantages of these nanochemosensors discussed here open the possibilities of further developments in a wide range of chemical and medical applications. 相似文献
