An intermediate wavelength, weakly nonlinear theory for the evolution of capillary gravity waves

A new nonlinear evolution equation is derived for surface solitary waves propagating on a liquid-air interface where the wave motion is induced by a harmonic forcing. Instead of the traditional approach involving a base state of the long wave limit, a base state of harmonic waves is assumed for the perturbation analysis. This approach is considered to be more appropriate for channels of length just a few multiples of the depth. The dispersion relation found approaches the classical long wave limit. The weakly nonlinear dispersive waves satisfy a KdV-like nonlinear evolution equation with steeper nonlinearity.     

Heterogeneous Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution Reaction by a Sol-Gel Electrode with Entrapped Na3[Ru2(μ-CO3)4]: The Effect of NaHCO3

The Na₃[Ru₂(μ-CO₃)₄] complex is acting as a water oxidation catalyst in a homogeneous system. Due to the significance of heterogeneous systems and the effect of bicarbonate on the kinetic, we studied the bicarbonate effect on the heterogeneous electrocatalyst by entrapping the Na₃[Ru₂(μ-CO₃)₄] complex in a sol-gel matrix. We have developed two types of sol-gel electrodes, which differ by the precursor, and are demonstrating their stability over a minimum of 200 electrochemical cycles. The pH increases affected the currents and k_cat for both types of electrodes, and their hydrophobicity, which was obtained from the precursor type, influenced the electrocatalytic process rate. The results indicate that NaHCO₃ has an important role in the catalytic activity of the presented heterogeneous systems; without NaHCO₃, the diffusing species is probably OH⁻, which undergoes diffusion via the Grotthuss mechanism. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to present a simple and fast one-step entrapment process for the Na₃[Ru₂(μ-CO₃)₄] complex by the sol-gel method under standard laboratory conditions. The results contribute to optimizing the WSP, ultimately helping expand the usage of hydrogen as a green and more readily available energy source.

旋转铂盘电极上Cu(phen)_2~(2 )与6-巯基嘌呤的相互作用

在Tris-NaC1*(pH=7.2)缓冲溶液中,应用循环伏安法,微分脉冲伏安法、旋转圆盘电极实验、交流阻抗法及其数据模拟等技术研究了Cu(phen)2 25(phcn=1.10-邻菲咯啉)与6-巯基嘌呤(6-MP)的相互作用.结果显示.Cu(phen)2 2MP与6-MP无论在扩散控制过程或电化学控制过程都发生了相互作用.Cu(phen)2 2及其与6-MP的作用产物于铂电极上均呈现一对氧化还原峰,但后者呈现的氧化还原峰负移.峰电流减小.交流阻抗结果显示,无论6-MP存在与否,Cu(phen)2 2在交流阻抗谱上均呈现两个清晰的电容弧,但当6-MP存在时,电化学反应电阻和电化学吸脱附电阻均增大.Cu(phen)2 2在不同转速下的阻抗拟合结果显示.随转速增大.电化学反应电阻和电化学吸脱附电阻均减小.双电层电容呈增大趋势,而吸脱附电容呈减小趋势:当6-MP存在时.仍然呈现此变化规律.     

The Fredholm Alternative for Functional Differential Equations of Mixed Type

We prove a Fredholm alternative theorem for a class of asymptotically hyperbolic linear differential difference equations of mixed type. We also establish the cocycle property and the spectral flow property for such equations, providing an effective means of calculating the Fredholm index. Such systems can arise from equations which describe traveling waves in a spatial lattice.
