The thermal decomposition of solid samples of iron(VI) oxides, K2FeO4·0.088 H2O (1) and BaFeO4·0.25H2O (2) in inert atmosphere has been examined using simultaneous thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA), in combination with in situ analysis of the evolved gases by online coupled mass spectrometer (EGA-MS). The final decomposition products were characterized by 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy. Water molecules were released first, followed by a distinct decomposition step with endothermic DTA peak of 1 and 2 at 273 and 248 °C, respectively, corresponding to the evolution of molecular oxygen as confirmed by EGA-MS. The released amounts of O2 were determined as 0.42 and 0.52 mol pro formula of 1 and 2, respectively. The decomposition product of K2FeO4 at 250 °C was determined as Fe(III) species in the form of KFeO2. Formation of an amorphous mixture of superoxide, peroxide, and oxide of potassium may be other products of the thermal conversion of iron(VI) oxide 1 to account for less than expected released oxygen. The thermogravimetric and Mössbauer data suggest that barium iron perovskite with the intermediate valence state of iron (between III and IV) was the product of thermal decomposition of iron(VI) oxide 2.  相似文献

A new and compact photoacoustic sensor for trace gas detection in the 2-2.5 microm atmospheric window is reported. Both the development of antimonide-based DFB lasers with singlemode emission in this spectral range and a novel design of photoacoustic cell adapted to the characteristics of these lasers are discussed. The laser fabrication was made in two steps. The structure was firstly grown by molecular beam epitaxy then a metallic DFB grating was processed. The photoacoustic cell is based on a Helmholtz resonator that was designed in order to fully benefit from the highly divergent emission of the antimonide laser. An optimized modulation scheme based on wavelength modulation of the laser source combined with second harmonic detection has been implemented for efficient suppression of wall noise. Using a 2211 nm laser, sub-ppm detection limit has been demonstrated for ammonia.  相似文献

Stimulated Raman emission from liquid dibromomethane (vibrational Raman shift frequency, 588 cm−1) is introduced into hydrogen gas (rotational Raman shift frequency, 587 cm−1) as a seed beam, in order to generate numerous rotational lines by four-wave Raman mixing. Unexpectedly, a supercontinuum, which is generated by self-phase modulation in dibromomethane, acted as a seed beam to exclusively generate vibrational lines; the rotational lines are generated only when the supercontinuum is minimal. The former is explained by a competition between the high-gain vibrational and low-gain rotational Raman effects when strongly seeded by a supercontinuum. The latter is explained by stimulated Raman gain under the seed effect exclusively to the first-Stokes rotational line.  相似文献

Experimental values of the salting coefficients for He, Ne, Ar, O2, and N2 in seawater are compared with values calculated from scaled-particle theory. The agreement is reasonably good; the average difference between calculated and observed values at 25°C is 0.007. Scaled-particle theory predicts correctly thatk s should decrease as the temperature increases and that this effect should be most pronounced at low temperatures. However, the predicted magnitude ofdK s/dt is only about half of that observed.  相似文献

Fresh lemon juice and lemon-flavored beverages were analyzed by using comprehensive 2-D GC (GC x GC) with flame-ionization detection, with a nonpolar-polar column combination. A low-alcohol, ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage was also analyzed as fresh, and after deterioration for 12 days at 50 degrees C. Identification of some of the components in the 2-D plots was performed by comparison of peak positions of authentic standards and comparison with 1-D GC. However, without the aid of GC x GC-mass spectral data, only 24 components were identified; a large number of components remained unassigned. In some soft drinks obtained in the market, components indicative of deterioration, such as p-methylacetophenone and p-cymen-8-ol were already present in the products. In contrast, even upon heat challenge, a low-alcohol RTD beverage did not generate deterioration products of citral, such as p-methylacetophenone and the intermediates, p-menth-2-ene-1,8-diols. This was apparently related to the fact that the original formulation contained only a minute amount of the citral ingredient.  相似文献

Stationary phase crosslinking conditions for fused silica capillary columns were optimized with the use of a factorial design experiment. This experimental strategy was chosen because it provided for the determination of two-factor interactions. A predictive model was developed for the desired chromatographic performance parameters as a function of the variables of the crosslinking reaction. Confirmatory experiments proved the usefulness of the mathematical model which resulted in the production of capillary columns of superior performance with significant improvements in reproducibility.  相似文献

Three different types of SCD combustion source have been evaluated for use in the chromatographic analysis of atmospheric sulfur compounds. The conventional FID source and the newer inverted burner source were found to be less sensitive and less stable than the flameless design. Compositions of polymers (polyethylene and polyuretane) and fillers (initial silica and silicas modified with: N-2-aminoethyl-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, 3-aminopropyltriethoxy-silane, 3-merkaptopropyltrimethoxysilane, octyltriethoxysilane) were examined by inverse gas chromatography at 383 K. Small amounts of the following test solutes were injected to achieve the infinite dilution conditions: pentane, hexane, heptane, octane, nonane, dichloromethane, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and 1,2-dichloroethane.The retention times for these test solutes were determined and Flory-Huggins parameters were calculated. Flory-Huggins parameters characterize interactions between components: - between composition and the test solute and χ23 - between polymer and filler in the composition.Values of both physicochemical parameters characterizing the examined materials were arranged in a matrix form: in the rows the compositions were enumerated at different temperatures whereas the columns contained the test solutes. After standardization the input matrix was subjected to principal component analysis. Three principal components explain more than 93% of the total variance in the data. Almost all test solutes carry very similar information. Therefore, it is justified to eliminate most of them from the series of test solutes.  相似文献
