THE TRANSFORMATION BETWEEN THE AKNS HIERARCHY AND THE KN HIERARCHY WITH SELF-CONSISTENT SOURCES

It is shown that the AKNS hierarchy with self-consistent sources can transform to KN hierarchy with self-consistent sources through a transformation operator and gauge transformation. Besides, there exists transformation in their conservation laws and Hamiltonian structures.     

On Grassmannian description of the constrained KP hierarchy

This note develops an explicit construction of the constrained KP hierarchy within the Sato Grassmannian framework. Useful relations are established between the kernel elements of the underlying ordinary differential operator and the eigenfunctions of the associated KP hierarchy as well as between the related bilinear concomitant and the squared eigenfunction potential.     

A general approach to fuzzy concepts

The paper proposes a flexible way to build concepts within fuzzy logic and set theory. The framework is general enough to capture some important particular cases, with their own independent interpretations, like “antitone” or “isotone” concepts constructed from fuzzy binary relations, but also to allow the two universes (of objects and attributes) to be equipped each with its own truth structure. Perhaps the most important feature of our approach is that we do not commit ourselves to any kind of logical connector, covering thus the case of a possibly non‐commutative conjunction too. Invariant Simultaneous Solutions of Evolution Equations of Integrable Hierarchies

We construct classical point symmetry groups for joint pairs of evolution equations (systems of equations) of integrable hierarchies related to the auxiliary equation of the method of the inverse problem of second order. For the two cases: the hierarchy of Korteweg--de Vries (KdV) equations and of the systems of Kaup equations, we construct simultaneous solutions invariant with respect to the symmetry group. The problem of the construction of these solutions can be reduced, respectively, to the first and second Painlevé equations depending on a parameter. The Painlevé equations are supplemented by the linear evolution equations defining the deformation of the solution of the corresponding Painlevé equation.     

Thermodynamics and Hydrodynamics (Statistical Foundations): 4. Kinetic Processes in Multicomponent Systems

We use the BBGKY hierarchy and the mass, momentum, and intrinsic energy conservation laws, which are consequences of this hierarchy, to obtain the hydrodynamic equations for multicomponent systems and the diffusion equations. We formulate several restrictions on the thermodynamic equations for irreversible processes.     

Flavour democracy calls for the fourth generation

It is argued with the help of an illustrative model, that the inter species hierarchy among the fermion masses and the quark mixing angles can be accommodated naturally in the standard model with (approximate) flavor democracy provided there are three exactly massless neutrinos and four families of sequential quark-leptons with all members of the fourth family having roughly equal masses. The special problem of light neutrino masses (if any) and possible solutions are also discussed.

Witten Solution for the Gelfand–Dikii Hierarchy

We derive formulas making it possible to calculate the Taylor expansion coefficients of the string solution for the Gelfand–Dikii hierarchy. According to the Witten conjecture, these coefficients coincide with the Mumford–Morita–Miller intersection numbers (correlators) of stable cohomology classes for the moduli space of n-spin bundles on Riemann surfaces with punctures.     

Characterization of the Relations in Grzegorczyk's Hierarchy Revisited

In his 1953's paper, Grzegorczyk proved that a certain kind of relation classes of Grzegorczyk's hierarchy could be characterized inductively. We give a simpler version of this characterization.
