Screen Cauchy Riemann lightlike submanifolds

Summary We introduce a new class of lightlike submanifolds, namely, Screen Cauchy Riemann (SCR) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kaehler manifolds. Contrary to CR-lightlike submanifolds, we show that SCR-lightlike submanifolds include invariant (complex) and screen real subcases of lightlike submanifolds. We study some properties of proper totally umbilical SCR-lightlike submanifolds, their invariant (complex) and screen real subcases.     

The Outer Oblique Boundary Problem of Potential Theory

In this article, we prove existence and uniqueness results for solutions to the outer oblique boundary problem for the Poisson equation under very weak assumptions on boundary, coefficients, and inhomogeneities. The main tools are the Kelvin transformation and the solution operator for the regular inner problem, provided in Grothaus and Raskop (Stochastics 2006; 78(4):233–257). Moreover we prove regularization results for the weak solutions of both the inner and the outer problem. We investigate the nonadmissible direction for the oblique vector field, state results with stochastic inhomogeneities, and provide a Ritz–Galerkin approximation. The results are applicable to problems from Geomathematics (see, e.g., Freeden and Maier (Electronic Trans. Numer. Anal. 2002; 14:40–62 and Bauer, An Alternative Approach to the Oblique Derivative Problem in Potential Theory, Shaker Verlag, Aachen, 2004)).

The purpose of the present paper is to prove that a Kaehler hypersurface with the cyclic Ricci semi-symmetric tensor is locally symmetric.     

Finite Type Non—Minimal Submanifolds

The notion of finite type xubmanifolds was introduced by B.Y.Chen.In this paper we consider the characteristics and the classifications of finite type non-minimal submanifolds.The characteristic theorems of 2-type Chen submanifolds、mass-symmetric hypersurfaces and Dupin hypersurfaces in Es^m are obtained.The classification theorems of 3-type hypersurfaces and null 2-type curves in Es^m are also proved.

Generalized Cauchy--Riemann lightlike submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds

Summary We introduce a class of submanifolds, namely, Generalized Cauchy--Riemann (GCR) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kaehler manifolds. We show that this new class is an umbrella of invariant (complex), screen real [8] and CR lightlike [6] submanifolds. We study the existence (or non-existence) of this new class in an indefinite space form. Then, we prove characterization theorems on the existence of totally umbilical, irrotational screen real, complex and CR minimal lightlike submanifolds. We also give one example each of a non totally geodesic proper minimal GCR and CR lightlike submanifolds.     

Volume-Preserving Great Circle Flows on the 3-Sphere

In this paper, we study volume-preserving great circle flows on the 3-sphere S³, and introduce a moduli space for these, consisting of distance-decreasing holomorphic maps from connected open subsets of S² to S²; one consequence is that the only volume-preserving great circle flows defined on the entire 3-sphere are those tangent to Hopf fibrations.
