Generalized Exponents and Forms

We consider generalized exponents of a finite reflection group acting on a real or complex vector space V. These integers are the degrees in which an irreducible representation of the group occurs in the coinvariant algebra. A basis for each isotypic component arises in a natural way from a basis of invariant generalized forms. We investigate twisted reflection representations (V tensor a linear character) using the theory of semi-invariant differential forms. Springer’s theory of regular numbers gives a formula when the group is generated by dim V reflections. Although our arguments are case-free, we also include explicit data and give a method (using differential operators) for computing semi-invariants and basic derivations. The data give bases for certain isotypic components of the coinvariant algebra.     

Multiplicative Jordan Decomposition in Integral Group Ring of Group K_8×C_5

In this article,we present the multiplicative Jordan decomposition in integral group ring of group K8 × C5,where K8 is the quaternion group of order 8.Thus,we give a positive answer to the question raised by Hales A W,Passi I B S and Wilson L E in the paper "The multiplicative Jordan decomposition in group rings II.     

Characterization of derivations on B(X) by local actions

Let A be a unital algebra and M be a unital A-bimodule. A linear map δ : A →M is said to be Jordan derivable at a nontrivial idempotent P ∈ A if δ(A) ? B + A ? δ(B) =δ(A ? B) for any A, B ∈ A with A ? B = P, here A ? B = AB + BA is the usual Jordan product. In this article, we show that if A = Alg N is a Hilbert space nest algebra and M = B(H), or A = M = B(X), then, a linear map δ : A → M is Jordan derivable at a nontrivial projection P ∈ N or an arbitrary but fixed nontrivial idempotent P ∈ B(X) if and only if it is a derivation. New equivalent characterization of derivations on these operator algebras was obtained.

Applications of two-sided α-generalized derivations to 3-prime near rings

Let N be a zero symmetric 3-prime right near ring and α:N→N be an endomorphism. In this paper, the notions of two-sided α-(generalized) derivations on N are studied. Some results characterize commutativity of 3-prime near rings are obtained. Examples proving the necessity of the 3-primeness hypothesis are given. When α = id_N, one can easily obtain the main results of [5 Bell, H. E., Boua, A., Oukhtite, L. (2015). Semigroup ideals and commutativity in 3-prime near rings. Commun. On derivable mappings

A linear mapping δ from an algebra A into an A-bimodule M is called derivable at c∈A if δ(a)b+aδ(b)=δ(c) for all a,b∈A with ab=c. For a norm-closed unital subalgebra A of operators on a Banach space X, we show that if C∈A has a right inverse in B(X) and the linear span of the range of rank-one operators in A is dense in X then the only derivable mappings at C from A into B(X) are derivations; in particular the result holds for all completely distributive subspace lattice algebras, J-subspace lattice algebras, and norm-closed unital standard algebras of B(X). As an application, every Jordan derivation from such an algebra into B(X) is a derivation. For a large class of reflexive algebras A on a Banach space X, we show that inner derivations from A into B(X) can be characterized by boundedness and derivability at any fixed C∈A, provided C has a right inverse in B(X). We also show that if A is a canonical subalgebra of an AF C^∗-algebra B and M is a unital Banach A-bimodule, then every bounded local derivation from A into M is a derivation; moreover, every bounded linear mapping from A into B that is derivable at the unit I is a derivation.     

A new one‐step smoothing newton method for the second‐order cone complementarity problem

In this paper, we present a new one‐step smoothing Newton method for solving the second‐order cone complementarity problem (SOCCP). Based on a new smoothing function, the SOCCP is approximated by a family of parameterized smooth equations. At each iteration, the proposed algorithm only need to solve one system of linear equations and perform only one Armijo‐type line search. The algorithm is proved to be convergent globally and superlinearly without requiring strict complementarity at the SOCCP solution. Moreover, the algorithm has locally quadratic convergence under mild conditions. Numerical experiments demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the new algorithm. Some commutativity criteria for prime rings with differential identities on Jordan ideals

In this article, we present some commutativity theorems for a ring R equipped with a generalized derivation satisfying certain differential identities on Jordan ideals of R. Some related results for prime rings are also discussed. Finally; we provide examples to show that the assumed restrictions are not superfluous.
