ON DIRECT METHOD OF SOLUTION FOR A CLASS OF SINGULAR INTEGRAL EQUATIONS

In this article, by introducing characteristic singular integral operator and associate singular integral equations (SIEs), the authors discuss the direct method of solution for a class of singular integral equations with certain analytic inputs. They obtain both the conditions of solvability and the solutions in closed form. It is noteworthy that the method is different from the classical one that is due to Lu.     

An algorithm for the computation of consistent initial values for differential–algebraic equations

We use boundary value methods to compute consistent initial values for fully implicit nonlinear differential-algebraic equations. The obtained algorithm uses variable order formulae and a deferred correction technique to evaluate the error. A rigorous theory is stated for nonlinear index 1, 2 and 3 DAEs of Hessenberg form. Numerical tests on classical index 1, 2 and 3 DAE problems are reported. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Light Scattering by Cylindrical Fibers with High Aspect Ratio Using the Null‐Field Method with Discrete Sources

The problem of computing light scattering by cylindrical fibers with high aspect ratio in the framework of the Null‐Field method with discrete sources is treated. Numerical experiments for investigating the scattering properties of two fiber geometries are performed using distributed spherical vector wave functions as discrete sources.     

POSITIVE SOLUTION FOR NONLINEAR SINGULAR BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS

Under suitable conditions on f(·,u), it is shown that the two-point boundaryvalue problem((u'))' + λq(t)f(u) = 0in (0, 1),u(0) = u(1) = 0,has two positive solution or at least one positive solution for λ in a compatibleinterval.

利用锥的Krasnosel'skill不动点定理建立了二阶三点半正边值问题u″+λf(t,u)+δg(t,u)=0, t∈(0,1),u(0)=0, αu(η)=u(1).其中,λ,δ＞0, 0＜η＜1, 0＜αη＜1正解的存在性,这里,非线性项不需要是非负的.     

THE ASYMPTOTIC SOLUTION FOR A CLASS OF SINGULARLY PERTURBED PROBLEM FOR SEMILINEAR SINGULAR EQUATION

The singularly perturbed boundary value problem for a class of semilinearsingular equation is considered. Using a simple and special method the asym-ptotic behavior of solution is studied.

本文对具有线性约束的非线性规划问题给出一个Goldfarb方法的改进算法,并且在与[1]同样的条件下,给出了算法之超线性收敛性证明.
