Summary Electrophoretic mobility measurements in the pH 2‐10 range are described for several commercial HPLC silica microparticles
and a laboratory-produced product. The content of metal impurities for the silicas was also determined by AAS. An acidic/hydrothermal
treatment was used to generate a more homogenous surface for some of the silicas. The zero points of charge (zpc) for both
a native and a treated silica plus several commercial HPLC silicas were compared. The electrophoretic mobility method may

Using ESR spectroscopy, the reaction of P(O)(OPri)2 phosphoryl radicals with C60ML2 (M=Pd, Pt) was studied and the spin-adducts formed were shown to be unstable under the reaction conditions. The 5-addition of Pt(PPh3)4 to the dimer of phosphorylfullerenyl radicals results in metal-containing dimers (RO)2(O)PL2MC60-C60ML2P(O)(OR)2, which dissociate when exposed to visible light to afford C60ML2P(O)(OR)2 radicals; ML2 in these complexes is located in different positions in relation to the radical center. The rearrangement of enol acylates of aryl 1H-1, 2, 4-triazol-1-ylmethyl ketones at 140–150°C in acetic anhydride is studied. The migration of the acyl group to the C(5) atom of the heterocycle is found to be intramolecular. The characteristics of the original and final products are presented. Electromotive force measurements were carried out on the system KCl–KNO3–H2O at constant total ionic strengths of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 mol-kg–1 and at 25, 35 and 45°C using a cell consisting of a potassium ionselective electrode and a Ag/AgCl electrode. The Harned coefficients and the Pitzer binary and ternary interaction parameters for the system have been evaluated at each temperature. The osmotic coefficients, excess free energies of mixing and heats of mixing of the system have been predicted at each of the experimental temperatures and ionic strengths. An additive procedure (SIBFA) is developed for the rapid computation of conformational energy variations in very large molecules. The macromolecule is built out of constitutive molecular fragments and the intramolecular energy is computed as a sum of interaction energies between the fragments. The electrostatic and the polarization components are calculated using multicenter multipole expansions of theab initio SCF electron density of the fragments. The repulsion component is obtained as a sum of bond and lone pair interactions.Tests of the procedure on a series of model compounds containing ether oxygens and pyridine-like nitrogens are reported and compared with the results of correspondingab initio SCF calculations. Radicals generated in linoleic acid and deuterated linoleic acid have been trapped by the spin trap 2-methyl-2-nitroso-propane (MNP) and identified by electron spin resonance (ESR) and ENDOR spectroscopy. The new layered ternary compound Nb3GexTe6 (x ? 0.90) was prepared by direct combination of the elements taken in the stoichiometric proportions 3 : 1 : 6, heated at 1 000 °C for 10 days in silica tubes and quenched to room temperature. The phase crystallizes in the orthorhombic symmetry, space group Pnma (#62), with the following single crystal refined parameters: a = 643.18(5) pm, b = 1391.98(11)pm and c = 1 154.07(5) pm, with Z = 4. The structure was refined to an R of 3.4% (Rw = 4.6%), with 1969 independent reflexions and 49 parameters. The structure is based on the close stacking of trigonal prismatic (TP) slabs in the AA/BB mode. The slabs can be seen as built up from face sharing biprisms, which are filled either by one or by two niobium cations situated in the middle of the trigonal prisms. The germanium is located in the middle of the common face of two prisms, leading to a rather unusual anionic square coordination. The refinements showed that this latter cation does not fill completely its square site. No cation was found in the van der Waals gap between the slabs. The mean dGe? Te distance (276.5 pm) is in agreement with GeII cations, while some Te …? Te distances (from 333.84 to 361.65pm) are too short for anions in a simple contact. These bonding distances, already mentionned in some MTe2 compounds, are to be ascribed to charge transfer in the structure, with a partial oxidation state for the tellurium anions. Short Nb? Nb and Nb? Ge distances (292.0 and 281.3 pm, respectively) imply intercationic bonding within the slabs. 相似文献

Our new trigonometrically fitted predictor–corrector (P–C) schemes presented here are based on the well known Adams–Bashforth–Moulton methods: the predictor is based on the fifth order Adams–Bashforth scheme and the corrector on the sixth order Adams–Moulton scheme. We tested the efficiency of our newly developed schemes against well known methods, with excellent results. The numerical experiments showed that at least one of our schemes is noticeably more efficient compared to other methods, some of which are specially designed for this type of problem. It is also worth mentioning that this is the first time that sixth algebraic order trigonometrically fitted Adams–Bashforth–Moulton P–C schemes are used to efficiently solve the radial Schrödinger equation.Active Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts 相似文献

Microcrystals of the metal silicate hydrate ilerite orient macroscopically on the surface of a ATR-crystals and thus, are
accessible for infrared linear dichroism measurements. We present first results which indicate that the alkyl chain packing
and the orientation of the polar group of dodecyltrimethylammoniumbromide (DTAB) intercalated between silicate layers can
be determined in terms of infrared order parameters. The properties of DTAB can be modulated by the relative humidity of the
surrounding atmosphere and by temperature. Upon heating DTAB undergoes a phase transition from a paraffin-like solid to a
fluid phase. The former is characterized by the orthorhombic perpendicular packing of the frozen alkyl chains with tilted
long axes. The interactions between the ionic groups of the surfactant and that of the host matrix stabilize the lamellar
arrangement of DTAB in the crystalline and in the fluid phases.
