Hopf bifurcation of the third-order Hénon system based on an explicit criterion

In this paper, Hopf bifurcation of the third-order Hénon system is studied via a simple explicit criterion, which is derived from the Schur–Cohn Criterion. Moreover stability of Hopf bifurcation is also investigated by using the normal form method and center manifold theory for the discrete time system developed by Kuznetsov. Test results containing simulations and circuit measurement are shown to demonstrate that the criterion is correct and feasible.

A monoidal approach to splitting morphisms of bialgebras

The main goal of this paper is to investigate the structure of Hopf algebras with the property that either its Jacobson radical is a Hopf ideal or its coradical is a subalgebra. Let us consider a Hopf algebra such that its Jacobson radical is a nilpotent Hopf ideal and is a semisimple algebra. We prove that the canonical projection of on has a section which is an -colinear algebra map. Furthermore, if is cosemisimple too, then we can choose this section to be an -bicolinear algebra morphism. This fact allows us to describe as a `generalized bosonization' of a certain algebra in the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over . As an application we give a categorical proof of Radford's result about Hopf algebras with projections. We also consider the dual situation. Let be a bialgebra such that its coradical is a Hopf sub-bialgebra with antipode. Then there is a retraction of the canonical injection of into which is an -linear coalgebra morphism. Furthermore, if is semisimple too, then we can choose this retraction to be an -bilinear coalgebra morphism. Then, also in this case, we can describe as a `generalized bosonization' of a certain coalgebra in the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over .

     

Transition wave in a supported heavy beam

We consider a heavy, uniform, elastic beam rested on periodically distributed supports as a simplified model of a bridge. The supports are subjected to a partial destruction propagating as a failure wave along the beam. Three related models are examined and compared: (a) a uniform elastic beam on a distributed elastic foundation, (b) an elastic beam in which the mass is concentrated at a discrete set of points corresponding to the discrete set of the elastic supports and (c) a uniform elastic beam on a set of discrete elastic supports. Stiffness of the support is assumed to drop when the stress reaches a critical value. In the formulation, it is also assumed that, at the moment of the support damage, the value of the ‘added mass’, which reflects the dynamic response of the support, is dropped too. Strong similarities in the behavior of the continuous and discrete-continuous models are detected. Three speed regimes, subsonic, intersonic and supersonic, where the failure wave is or is not accompanied by elastic waves excited by the moving jump in the support stiffness, are considered and related characteristic speeds are determined. With respect to these continuous and discrete-continuous models, the conditions are found for the failure wave to exist, to propagate uniformly or to accelerate. It is also found that such beam-related transition wave can propagate steadily only at the intersonic speeds. It is remarkable that the steady-state speed appears to decrease as the jump of the stiffness increases.     

Diffusion-driven stability and bifurcation in a predator–prey system with Ivlev-type functional response

A diffusive predator–prey system with Ivlev-type functional response subject to Neumann boundary conditions is considered. Hopf and steady-state bifurcation analysis are carried out in detail. First, the stability of the positive equilibrium and the existence of spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous periodic solutions are investigated by analysing the distribution of the eigenvalues. The direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are determined by the normal form theory and the centre manifold reduction for partial functional differential equations and then steady-state bifurcation is studied. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out for illustrating the theoretical results.     

Extension of the Ahiezer–Kac Determinant Formula to the Case of Real-Valued Symbols with Two Real Zeros

The Fredholm determinant asymptotics for self-adjoint convolution operators on finite intervals with real symbols vanishing on the real axis is studied. Explicit formulae are obtained in the case where the symbol satisfies the generalized zero index condition and has only two simple zeros of analytic type. These formulae are direct extensions of the Ahiezer–Kac–Szegö limit theorem which, in particular, take into account the oscillating character of the asymptotics.     

偶交叉双积Hopf代数B RH的构造

本文给出了Doi Y.构造的偶交叉积B H的代数结构与Reshetikhim～N.构造的双代数BRH的余代数结构在张量空间B H上构成双代数(记为BRH)的充要条件,利用此结论具体构造了一个有趣的例子H4 KZ2,证明了当B,H均为Hopf.代数时BRH也为Hopf代数,最后给出这类双代数的映射刻划.
