Embedding Certain Infinitely Connected Subsets of Bordered Riemann Surfaces Properly into ℂ2

We prove that certain infinitely connected domains D in a bordered Riemann surface, which admits a holomorphic embedding into C ², admit a proper holomorphic embedding into C ². We also prove that certain infinitely connected open subsets D⊂ℂ admit a proper holomorphic embedding into ℂ².      

Numerical boundaries for some classical Banach spaces

Globevnik gave the definition of boundary for a subspace . This is a subset of Ω that is a norming set for . We introduce the concept of numerical boundary. For a Banach space X, a subset BΠ(X) is a numerical boundary for a subspace if the numerical radius of f is the supremum of the modulus of all the evaluations of f at B, for every f in . We give examples of numerical boundaries for the complex spaces X=c₀, and d_*(w,1), the predual of the Lorentz sequence space d(w,1). In all these cases (if K is infinite) we show that there are closed and disjoint numerical boundaries for the space of the functions from B_X to X which are uniformly continuous and holomorphic on the open unit ball and there is no minimal closed numerical boundary. In the case of c₀, we characterize the numerical boundaries for that space of holomorphic functions.     

Analytic properties in the spectrum of certain Banach algebras

We show a sufficient condition for a domain in to be a H ^∞-domain of holomorphy. Furthermore if a domain has the Gleason property at a point and the projection of the n − 1th order generalized Shilov boundary does not coincide with Ω then is schlicht. We also give two examples of pseudoconvex domains in which the spectrum is non-schlicht and satisfy several other interesting properties.

A Note on Schwarz-Pick Estimate

A Schwarz-Pick estimate of higher order derivative for holomorphic functions with positive real part on Bn is presented. This improves the earlier work on Schwarz-Pick estimate of higher order derivatives for holomorphic functions with positive real part on the unit disk in C.

Valiron's theorem in the unit ball and spectra of composition operators

We prove a version of Valiron's conjugacy theorem for Schur class mappings of the unit ball of CN. As an application we obtain a formula for the spectral radius of composition operators on the ball with Schur class symbols.     

An equivalence to the Gleason problem

In this article we study the Gleason problem locally. A new method for solving the Gleason A problem is presented. This is done by showing an equivalent statement to the Gleason A problem. In order to prove this statement, necessary and a sufficient conditions for a bounded domain to have the Gleason A property are found. Also an example of a bounded but not smoothly-bounded domain in Cn is given, which satisfies the sufficient condition at the origin, and hence has the Gleason A property there.
