Segments and Hilbert schemes of points

Using results obtained from a study of homogeneous ideals sharing the same initial ideal with respect to some term order, we prove the singularity of the point corresponding to a segment ideal with respect to a degreverse term order (as, for example, the degrevlex order) in the Hilbert scheme of points in Pⁿ. In this context, we look into the properties of several types of “segment” ideals that we define and compare. This study also leads us to focus on the connections between the shape of generators of Borel ideals and the related Hilbert polynomial, thus providing an algorithm for computing all saturated Borel ideals with a given Hilbert polynomial.     

Weighted core–EP inverse of an operator between Hilbert spaces

We introduce and study the weighted core–EP inverse of an operator between two Hilbert spaces as a generalization of the weighted core–EP inverse for a rectangular matrix. Several new properties of weighted core–EP inverses are given and some known results are extended. Using a weighted operator, the core–EP pre-order and the minus partial order of corresponding operators, we define new pre-orders on the set of all Wg–Drazin invertible operators between two Hilbert spaces. As consequences of our results, we present a new characterization and new representations of the core–EP inverse, new characterizations of the core–EP pre-order and extend the core–EP pre-order to a partial order.     

On the Cayley-Bacharach Property

The Cayley-Bacharach Property (CBP), which has been classically stated as a property of a finite set of points in an affine or projective space, is extended to arbitrary 0-dimensional affine algebras over arbitrary base fields. We present characterizations and explicit algorithms for checking the CBP directly, via the canonical module, and in combination with the property of being a locally Gorenstein ring. Moreover, we characterize strict Gorenstein rings by the CBP and the symmetry of their affine Hilbert function, as well as by the strict CBP and the last difference of their affine Hilbert function.     

Riemann‐Hilbert problems and soliton solutions of a multicomponent mKdV system and its reduction

An arbitrary order matrix spectral problem is introduced and its associated multicomponent AKNS integrable hierarchy is constructed. Based on this matrix spectral problem, a kind of Riemann‐Hilbert problems is formulated for a multicomponent mKdV system in the resulting AKNS integrable hierarchy. Through special corresponding Riemann‐Hilbert problems with an identity jump matrix, soliton solutions to the presented multicomponent mKdV system are explicitly worked out. A specific reduction of the multicomponent mKdV system is made, together with its reduced Lax pair and soliton solutions.     

Hilbert-style axiomatization of first-degree entailment and a family of its extensions

This paper presents a Hilbert-style system for the logic of first-degree entailment defined in a Fmla-Fmla framework. The effective use of this formulation as a basis for a whole family of systems extending the logic of first-degree entailment in various directions is shown. By systematizing this family, some new systems are uncovered, and some other well-established logics (such as the first-degree entailment fragment of Priest's Logic of Paradox) obtain new axiomatization. Semantics for the key systems from the family is formulated.     

On a mixed Kernel Hilbert‐type integral inequality and its operator expressions with norm

By using some real analysis techniques, we study the structural characteristics of a multi‐parameter Hilbert‐type integral inequality with the hybrid kernel and obtain some equivalent conditions for this inequality. We also consider the operator expression of the equivalent inequalities. The conclusions not only integrate some results of references but also find some new Hilbert‐type integral inequalities with simple form by choosing suitable parameter values.

经典的最大均方差异统计量MMD_b(F,X,Y)和MMD_u²(F,X,Y)基于等量假设(即m=n)来检验两组样本X={x1,x2,……,x_m}和Y={y1,y2,……,y_n}是否来自不同的分布.本文对样本等量假设进行了放松,推广了经典的最大均方差异统计量界,推导出当m≠n时统计量MMD_b(F,X,Y)和MMD_u²(F,X,Y)的一般界.结果表明经典的最大均方差异统计量界是本文推导的最大均方差异统计量一般界的特例.     

Nil-Clean Rings with Involution

A *-ring R is called a nil *-clean ring if every element of R is a sum of a projection and a nilpotent.Nil *-clean rings are the *-version of nil-clean rings introduced by Diesl.This paper is about the nil *-clean property of rings with emphasis on matrix rings.We show that a *-ring R is nil *-clean if and only if J(R) is nil and R/J(R) is nil*-clean.For a 2-primal *-ring R,with the induced involution given by (aij)* =(a*ij)T,the nil *-clean property of Mn(R) is completely reduced to that of Mn(Z2).Consequently,Mn(R) is not a nil *-clean ring for n =3,4,and M2(R) is a nil *-clean ring if and only if J(R) is nil,R/J(R) is a Boolean ring and a*-a ∈ J(R) for all a ∈ R.     

On character groups arising from dimension groups

Character groups associated with certain dimension groups are considered. It is shown how these character groups can be used to construct an AF groupoid whose dimension group is isomorphic to the original dimension group.
