On solvability of boundary value problems for higher order nonlinear hyperbolic equations

Long time behavior for nonlocal stochastic Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equations

In this paper, we consider a class of nonlocal stochastic Kuramoto–Sivashinsky equations driven by additive noises. Under some appropriate conditions, we investigate long time behavior, i.e., stability and growth bounds of the solutions to the equation. Finally, several examples are given to illustrate our results.     

Hamiltonian torus actions on symplectic orbifolds and toric varieties

In the first part of the paper, we build a foundation for further work on Hamiltonian actions on symplectic orbifolds. Most importantly, we prove the orbifold versions of the abelian connectedness and convexity theorems. In the second half, we prove that compact symplectic orbifolds with completely integrable torus actions are classified by convex simple rational polytopes with a positive integer attached to each open facet and that all such orbifolds are algebraic toric varieties.

The proof of Tchakaloff's Theorem

We provide a simple proof of Tchakaloff's Theorem on the existence of cubature formulas of degree for Borel measures with moments up to order . The result improves known results for non-compact support, since we do not need conditions on st moments. In fact, we reduce the classical assertion of Tchakaloff's Theorem to a well-known statement going back to F. Riesz.

Class field theory for a product of curves over a local field

We prove that the kernel of the reciprocity map for a product of curves over a p-adic field with split semi-stable reduction is divisible. We also consider the K ₁ of a product of curves over a number field.      

Matrix coefficients and coadjoint orbits of compact Lie groups

Let be a compact Lie group. We use Weyl functional calculus (Anderson, 1969) and symplectic convexity theorems to determine the support and singular support of the operator-valued Fourier transform of the product of the -function and the pull-back of an arbitrary unitary irreducible representation of to the Lie algebra, strengthening and generalizing the results of Cazzaniga, 1992. We obtain as a consequence a new demonstration of the Kirillov correspondence for compact Lie groups.

Almost-Sure Results for a Class of Dependent Random Variables

The aim of this note is to establish almost-sure Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund type results for a class of random variables indexed by _d ⁺ —the positive d-dimensional lattice points—and having maximal coefficient of correlation strictly smaller than 1. The class of applications include filters of certain Gaussian sequences and Markov processes.
