A Legendre spectral element/Laguerre coupled method is proposed to numerically solve the elliptic Helmholtz problem on the half line. Rigorous analysis is carried out to establish the convergence of the method. Several numerical examples are provided to confirm the theoretical results. The advantage of this method is demonstrated by a numerical comparison with the pure Laguerre method.  相似文献

It is proved that the category of modules of finite length over a broad class of generalized Weyl algebras contains no left almost split morphism starting from a simple module. It is shown that a similar assertion holds for the algebraUsl2(k) over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic 0. This paper deals with the coupled procedure of the boundary element method (BEM) and the finite element method (FEM) for the exterior boundary value problems for the Helmholtz equation. A circle is selected as the common boundary on which the integral equation is set up with Fourier expansion. As a result, the exterior problems are transformed into nonlocal boundary value problems in a bounded domain which is treated with FEM, and the normal derivative of the unknown function at the common boundary does not appear. The solvability of the variational equation and the error estimate are also discussed.

In this work we substantiate the applying of the Helmholtz vector decomposition theorem (H-theorem) to vector fields in classical electrodynamics. Using the H-theorem, within the framework of the two-parameter Lorentz-like gauge (so called v-gauge), we show that two kinds of magnetic vector potentials exist: one of them (solenoidal) can act exclusively with the velocity of light c and the other one (irrotational) with an arbitrary finite velocity v (including a velocity more than c). We show also that the irrotational component of the electric field has a physical meaning and can propagate exclusively instantaneously.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of determining the boundary perturbations of an object from far‐field electric or acoustic measurements. Assuming that the unknown scatterer boundary is a small perturbation of a circle, we develop a linearized relationship between the far‐field data and the shape of the object. Analytic expressions for the thermodynamic properties of a classical two-dimensional square-well fluid and the first quantum correction to them are derived using the Barker-Henderson perturbation theory. Numerical results are reported. It is found that the quantum effect, which increases with increase of density, is largely determined by the hard-core and the attractive tail has a minor effect at high density.  相似文献

The impedance wave diffraction problem by a half‐plane screen is revisited in view of its well‐posedness upon different impedance and wave parameters. The problem is analysed with the help of potential and pseudo‐differential operators. Seven conditions between the impedance and wave numbers are found under which the problem will be well‐posed in Bessel potential spaces. This paper deals with the efficient numerical solution of the two-dimensional one-way Helmholtz equation posed on an unbounded domain. In this case, one has to introduce artificial boundary conditions to confine the computational domain. The main topic of this work is the construction of the so-called discrete transparent boundary conditions for state-of-the-art parabolic equation methods, namely a split-step discretization of the high-order parabolic approximation and the split-step Padé algorithm of Collins. Finally, several numerical examples arising in optics and underwater acoustics illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of our approach.  相似文献
