Optical inspection and characterization of microoptics using confocal microscopy

With the growing demand for microoptics in different areas the importance of the characterization increases. Methods for a fast defect detection in microlens arrays are developed. We present a technique where the confocal principle is applied for determining the variation and the absolute value of the focal length. Additionally, using a self–filtering method the deviation of the periodic structure of microlens arrays is investigated theoretically and experimentally. Point-like defects as well as aberrations have been detected. The introduced methods allow the fast, parallel characterization of microlens arrays.     

State of the Art in the Field of Electronic and Bioelectronic Tongues – Towards the Analysis of Wines

This review compares various types of (bio)electronic tongues. The design and principles of potentiometric and voltammetric electronic tongues are discussed together with applications in food and environmental analysis. Different approaches towards bioelectronic tongue are presented. Several methods for evaluation and interpretation of the measured data are described. Finally, the potential of such devices for analysis of wine is discussed.     

Analysis of Antihistamines in Cough Syrup

Abstract

An efficient and simple high performance liquid chromatography method was developed for determination of Ephedrine. Noscapine, Promethazine and Bromhexine in cough syrup. Cough syrup samples could be cleaned up by anionic exchange solid phase extraction disk. The method has been validated with good recovery, linearity, reproducibility and selectivity for simultaneous determination of common antihistamines in over-the-counter cough syrup mixtures.     

Block plan for a fractional 2 m factorial design derived from a 2 r factorial design

Summary For a given fractional 2 ^m factorial (2 ^m -FF) designT, the constitution of a block plan to divideT intok (2 ^r−1<k≦2 ^r ) blocks withr block factors each at two levels is proposed and investigated. The well-known three norms of the confounding matrix are used as measures for determining a “good” block plan. Some theorems concerning the constitution of a block plan are derived for a 2 ^m -FF design of odd or even resolution. Two norms which may be preferred over the other norm are slightly modified. For each value ofN assemblies with 11≦N≦26, optimum block plans fork=2 blocks with block sizes [N/2] andN−[N/2] minimizing the two norms are presented forA-optimal balanced 2⁴-FF designs of resolutionV given by Srivastava and Chopra (Technometrics,13, 257–269).     

Sensitive analyses of agricultural chemicals by capillary electrochromatography

Capillary electrochromatography using a monolithic matrix was employed to develop a rapid and highly efficient separation methodology for the analyses of mixtures of agrochemical importance. Using this method, ppm‐ppb detection limits for urea, carbamate, and phenoxy acid herbicides were achieved without a preconcentration technique. The detection limits were further decreased to low‐ppb levels for the same class of compounds using an on‐column preconcentration technique.

A broad-band constant beam-width array with four elements

This paper describes in detail an acoustical array structure with fourelements that have cosine directivity function over a certain frequency range.The acoustical axis directions of these elements are orthogonal to each other,sotheir beams cover all bearing angles within 360°.By use of the amplitude bear-ing method,it is easy to detect the bearing of incident acoustic signal.A specialsound reflection foam rubber is designed as a back baffle of the array.It hasbeen shown,in practice,that the constant beam-width has been obtained for amultiple frequency band of the ratio of 8:1.The paper also gives a mathematicalmodel for the array structure.The theoretical values are consistent with themeasured results.

用两个列阵柱面透镜与非球面透镜组成变焦线聚焦系统，能将入射激光束会聚成辐照均匀、长度连续可调的焦线，它可用于Ｘ光激光实验研究．文中详细分析了焦线上光场分布的情况，给出了物理光学分析的结果，并与巳有技术作了比较．
