On some auxiliary mappings generated by nonexpansive and strictly pseudo-contractive mappings

Starting by a finite family of mappings, we define the concept of procedure with Lipschitzian dependence of the coefficients. We give seven concrete examples of such procedures and prove the strong convergence of two viscosity methods.     

Contractive type non-self mappings on metric spaces of hyperbolic type

Let (X,d) be a metric space of hyperbolic type and K a nonempty closed subset of X. In this paper we study a class of mappings from K into X (not necessarily self-mappings on K), which are defined by the contractive condition (2.1) below, and a class of pairs of mappings from K into X which satisfy the condition (2.28) below. We present fixed point and common fixed point theorems which are generalizations of the corresponding fixed point theorems of ?iri? [L.B. ?iri?, Quasi-contraction non-self mappings on Banach spaces, Bull. Acad. Serbe Sci. Arts 23 (1998) 25-31; L.B. ?iri?, J.S. Ume, M.S. Khan, H.K.T. Pathak, On some non-self mappings, Math. Nachr. 251 (2003) 28-33], Rhoades [B.E. Rhoades, A fixed point theorem for some non-self mappings, Math. Japon. 23 (1978) 457-459] and many other authors. Some examples are presented to show that our results are genuine generalizations of known results from this area.     

Extended radial epiderivatives of non-convex vector-valued maps and parametric quasiconvex programming

In this paper, we consider extended vector-valued mappings defined on a normed linear space. Based on the recent semicontinuous regularizations related to hypographical and/or epigraphical profile mappings of the considered function introduced, we define semicontinuous radial epiderivatives. We, then, demonstrate that the properties of these epiderivatives amount to properties of hypographical and/or epigraphical profile mappings of the corresponding difference quotient of the underlying function, which simplify fairly well the proofs in the radial epiderivative formulaes. In particular, we stress the impact of semicontinuity, hence, we characterize with new arguments the radial epiderivatives in terms of the suprema and/or infima of the interiorly radial cone of the hypograph and/or epigraph of the considered function. Finally, we obtain optimality conditions for general non-convex constrained vector optimization problems. We apply thereafter the obtained pattern to a parametric quasiconvex programming problem for which we derive necessary and sufficient optimality conditions that are not sensitive to perturbation at the nominal level, yielding henceforth more – and strong at least under asymptotically regular constraints – information than the recent stability results obtained under additional conditions on the regularity of the normal cone to the adjusted sublevel sets of the underlying function.     

Necessary optimality conditions for bilevel set optimization problems

Bilevel programming problems are hierarchical optimization problems where in the upper level problem a function is minimized subject to the graph of the solution set mapping of the lower level problem. In this paper necessary optimality conditions for such problems are derived using the notion of a convexificator by Luc and Jeyakumar. Convexificators are subsets of many other generalized derivatives. Hence, our optimality conditions are stronger than those using e.g., the generalized derivative due to Clarke or Michel-Penot. Using a certain regularity condition Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions are obtained.      

Some conformally flat spin manifolds, Dirac operators and automorphic forms

In this paper we study Clifford and harmonic analysis on some examples of conformal flat manifolds that have a spinor structure, or more generally, at least a pin structure. The examples treated here are manifolds that can be parametrized by U/Γ where U is a subdomain of either Sn or Rn and Γ is a Kleinian group acting discontinuously on U. The examples studied here include RPn and the Hopf manifolds S¹×Sn−1. Also some hyperbolic manifolds will be treated. Special kinds of Clifford-analytic automorphic forms associated to the different choices of Γ are used to construct explicit Cauchy kernels, Cauchy integral formulas, Green's kernels and formulas together with Hardy spaces and Plemelj projection operators for Lp spaces of hypersurfaces lying in these manifolds.     

Estimates on Green functions and Schrödinger-type equations for non-symmetric diffusions with measure-valued drifts

In this paper, we establish sharp two-sided estimates for the Green functions of non-symmetric diffusions with measure-valued drifts in bounded Lipschitz domains. As consequences of these estimates, we get a 3G type theorem and a conditional gauge theorem for these diffusions in bounded Lipschitz domains.Informally the Schrödinger-type operators we consider are of the form L+μ⋅∇+ν where L is a uniformly elliptic second order differential operator, μ is a vector-valued signed measure belonging to Kd,1 and ν is a signed measure belonging to Kd,2. In this paper, we establish two-sided estimates for the heat kernels of Schrödinger-type operators in bounded C1,1-domains and a scale invariant boundary Harnack principle for the positive harmonic functions with respect to Schrödinger-type operators in bounded Lipschitz domains.

Asymptotically Nonexpansive Mappings in Modular Function Spaces

In this paper, we prove that if ρ is a convex, σ-finite modular function satisfying a Δ₂-type condition, C a convex, ρ-bounded, ρ-a.e. compact subset of L_ρ, and T: C → C a ρ-asymptotically nonexpansive mapping, then T has a fixed point. In particular, any asymptotically nonexpansive self-map defined on a convex subset of L¹(Ω, μ) which is compact for the topology of local convergence in measure has a fixed point.
