Colour naming

An experimental study exploring colour ranges corresponding to different colour names has been conducted. Available colour terms in Turkish language have been identified and the most frequently known or used colour terms have been attained. Using the Munsell Color System, colour ranges reflecting the colour naming and colour perception of Turkish people, have been constructed for each colour term. The discussion of the findings and observations during the research are also included.

In this paper we prove that the Jacobian J(F) of a map F( f1, , fl) from Ginto Rl maps the product of Lebesgue space Lp1 × × Lpl into local Hardy space hγ(G),where Q/(Q+1)<γ≤ 1, and Q is the homogeneous dimension of the stratified Lie group G .

Solvability in Hardy space for second order elliptic equations

We obtain a priori estimates and solvability in Hardy type space in a bounded domain of R ⁿ for second order elliptic equations with coefficients of limited smoothness. Such a result can be served as an endpoint case of the classical L ^p (1 < p < ∞) theory for second order elliptic equations. Our approach is based on a standard technique of perturbation rather than that of integral representation formula.     

Gamow Vectors for Resonances: A Lax-Phillips Point of View

Results from the Lax-Phillips Scattering Theory are used to analyze quantum mechanical scattering systems, in particular to obtain spectral properties of their resonances which are defined to be the poles of the scattering matrix. For this approach the interplay between the positive energy projection and the Hardy-space projections is decisive. Among other things it turns out that the spectral properties of these poles can be described by the (discrete) eigenvalue spectrum of a so-called truncated evolution, whose eigenvectors can be considered as the Gamow vectors corresponding to these poles. Further an expansion theorem of the positive Hardy-space part of vectors Sg (S scattering operator) into a series of Gamow vectors is presented.     

Preparation and properties of silica films with higher-alkyl groups

Silica films with various types of alkyl groups were grown from the liquid phase, at room temperature, using alkyl tri-alkoxy silane compounds. From Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) absorption measurements, a majority of Si-alkyl bonds in the source molecules were found to remain in the grown film, while Si-alkoxy bonds were completely removed. Electrical and thermal properties have been measured comparatively for various films having dense alkyl groups. The films with the methyl group are promising for silicon production in ultra large-scale integrated circuits (Si-ULSIs) and the film having the vinyl group for non-heat-tolerant compound-semiconductor large-scale integrated circuits (LSIs).     

The computation of negative eigenvalues of singular Sturm-Liouville problems

In this work we shall develop a new interpolation method forthe computation of eigenvalues of singular Sturm–Liouvilleproblems. Basic properties of the Jost solutions are used todetermine the growth of the boundary function and an appropriateinterpolation basis. This leads to a good approximation of thenegative eigenvalues.

本文讨论了形如εy″=u（x，Y，ε）（y′）^2＋v（x，Y，ε），0＜X＜1，y（0,ε）-P1y′（0，ε）=A（ε），y（1，ε）＋P2y′（1，ε）=B（ε）的二次方程Robin问题奇摄动问题．通过引入不同量级的伸长变量，利用外部解和校正项相结合方法构造了本问题形式上的任意阶的渐近解，并利用微分不等式这一工具对所求得的解作出估计，得出一致有效的肯定结论．     

Essentially normal Hilbert modules and K-homology Ⅲ:Homogenous quotient modules of Hardy modules on the bidisk

In this paper, we study the homogenous quotient modules of the Hardy module on the bidisk. The essential normality of the homogenous quotient modules is completely characterized. We also describe the essential spectrum for a general quotient module. The paper also considers K-homology invariant defined in the case of the homogenous quotient modules on the bidisk.     

Optimal recovery of interpolation operators in Hardy spaces

We continue studies begun by C.A. Micchelli and T.J. Rivlin on optimal recovery in H^p spaces. The feature operators are various interpolation operators drawn from the theory of Walsh equiconvergence, as are the information sets. The theory is of interest in that it identifies linear algorithms which might not otherwise be isolated for study or used as approximations of the feature operators. In some cases, we can identify the optimal algorithm although we cannot explicitly determine the exact order of the approximation that it achieves.
