Deformation Quantization of Algebraic Varieties

The paper is devoted to peculiarities of the deformation quantization in the algebro-geometric context. A direct application of the formality theorem to an algebraic Poisson manifold gives a canonical sheaf of categories deforming coherent sheaves. The global category is very degenerate in general. Thus, we introduce a new notion of a semiformal deformation, a replacement in algebraic geometry of an actual deformation (versus a formal one). Deformed algebras obtained by semiformal deformations are Noetherian and have polynomial growth. We propose constructions of semiformal quantizations of projective and affine algebraic Poisson manifolds satisfying certain natural geometric conditions. Projective symplectic manifolds (e.g. K3 surfaces and Abelian varieties) do not satisfy our conditions, but projective spaces with quadratic Poisson brackets and Poisson–Lie groups can be semiformally quantized.     

2-Cocycles of original deformative Schr?dinger-Virasoro algebras

Both original and twisted Schr?dinger-Virasoro algebras, and also their deformations were introduced and investigated in a series of papers by Henkel, Roger and Unterberger. In the present paper we aim at determining the 2-cocycles of original deformative Schr?dinger-Virasoro algebras. Multilinear Components of the Prime Subvarieties of the Variety Var(M2(F))

We describe the multilinear components of the prime subvarieties of the variety Var(M ₂(F)) generated by the matrix algebra of order 2 over a field of characteristic p>0.

We discuss the existence of tilting modules which are direct limits of finitely generated tilting modules over tilted algebras.      

Infinitesimal deformations of restricted simple Lie algebras I

We compute the infinitesimal deformations of two families of restricted simple modular Lie algebras of Cartan-type: the Witt–Jacobson and the Special Lie algebras.     

On the scarcity of contravariant left adjunctions

It is shown that any pair of contravariant mutually left adjoint functors between varieties of algebrasC andD factors through the retractions of these categories onto the complete lattices of epimorphs of their respective initial objects, and is thus fairly degenerate. However, some interesting contravariant left adjoint functors do exist between categories of finitely generated (or otherwise restricted) algebras.This work was done while the author was partly supported by NSF contract DMS 85-02330.Presented by F. On a graded mesh method for a class of weakly singular Volterra integral equations

In this paper a class of weakly singular Volterra integral equations with an infinite set of solutions is investigated. Among the set of solutions only one particular solution is smooth and all others are singular at the origin. The numerical solution of this class of equations has been a difficult topic to analyze and has received much previous investigation. The aim of this paper is to improve the convergence rates by a graded mesh method. The convergence rates are proved and a variety of numerical examples are provided to support the theoretical findings.     

Noncommutative algebras associated to complexes and graphs

A new class of noncommutative algebras associated to complexes and graphs is introduced. Algebras associated to one-dimensional complexes are studied.
