A bracket power characterization of analytic spread one ideals

The main theorem characterizes, in terms of bracket powers, analytic spread one ideals in local rings. Specifically, let be regular nonunits in a local (Noetherian) ring and assume that , the integral closure of , where . Then the main result shows that for all but finitely many units in that are non-congruent modulo and for all large integers and it holds that for and not divisible by , where is the -th bracket power of . And, conversely, if there exist positive integers , , and such that has a basis such that , then has analytic spread one.

     

Flow prolongation of some tangent valued forms

We study the prolongation of semibasic projectable tangent valued k-forms on fibered manifolds with respect to a bundle functor F on local isomorphisms that is based on the flow prolongation of vector fields and uses an auxiliary linear r-th order connection on the base manifold, where r is the base order of F. We find a general condition under which the Frölicher-Nijenhuis bracket is preserved. Special attention is paid to the curvature of connections. The first order jet functor and the tangent functor are discussed in detail. Next we clarify how this prolongation procedure can be extended to arbitrary projectable tangent valued k-forms in the case F is a fiber product preserving bundle functor on the category of fibered manifolds with m-dimensional bases and local diffeomorphisms as base maps.     

Smash Products for Secondary Homotopy Groups

We construct a smash product operation on secondary homotopy groups yielding the structure of a lax symmetric monoidal functor. Applications on cup-one products, Toda brackets and Whitehead products are considered. On Linearized Poisson Structures

It is shown that, up to a diffeomorphism, the linearized Poisson structure does not depend on the choice of the transversal near the zero section.     

Dendriform equations

We investigate solutions for a particular class of linear equations in dendriform algebras. Motivations as well as several applications are provided. The latter follow naturally from the intimate link between dendriform algebras and Rota–Baxter operators, e.g. the Riemann integral map or Jackson's q-integral.     

Phase space density representations in fluid dynamics

Phase space density representations of inviscid fluid dynamics were recently discussed by Abarbanel and Rouhi. Here it is shown that such representations may be simply derived and interpreted by means of the Liouville equation corresponding to the dynamical system of ordinary differential equations that describes fluid particle trajectories. The Hamiltonian and Poisson bracket for the phase space density then emerge as immediate consequences of the corresponding structure of the dynamics. For barotropic fluids, this approach leads by direct construction to the formulation presented by Abarbanel and Rouhi. Extensions of this formulation to inhomogeneous incompressible fluids and to fluids in which the state equation involves an additional transported scalar variable are constructed by augmenting the single-particle dynamics and phase space to include the relevant additional variable.     

Supersymmetric classical mechanics

The purpose of the paper is to construct a supersymmetric Lagrangian within the framework of classical mechanics which would be regarded as a candidate for passage to supersymmetric quantum mechanics. The authors felicitate Prof. D S Kothari on his eightieth birthday and dedicate this paper to him on this occasion.
