利用广义高阶Bernoulli数的性质及Dirichlet L-函数的均值定理,研究了Gauss和及广义Kloosterman和与广义高阶Bernoulli数的均值性质,并给出两个有趣的渐近公式.     

Anomalies in evaporative light scattering detection

A two-dimensional (2-D) “heart-cutting” HPLC system was used to fractionate oligostyrenes into the respective diastereoisomers. For samples of known composition, the response of an ultraviolet (UV) absorbance detector followed the anticipated pattern. The response of an evaporative light-scattering (ELSD) detector on the other hand indicated quite different concentrations for the two diastereoisomers, relative to what was anticipated and what was indicated by the UV detector. Whereas approximately the same concentration was indicated by UV, ELSD in some cases indicated no detection of the later eluting isomer. The magnitude of the errors depended on both the molecular weight and the tacticity of the diastereomers. These anomalies appear to be an artifact of power transform functions imbedded within the firmware processor of the ELSD, invisible to the user.     

Exact analytical solutions for axial flow of a fractional second grade fluid between two coaxial cylinders

The velocity field and the adequate shear stress corresponding to the longitudinal flow of a fractional second grade fluid, between two infinite coaxial circular cylinders, are determined by applying the Laplace and finite Hankel transforms. Initially the fluid is at rest, and at time t = 0⁺, the inner cylinder suddenly begins to translate along the common axis with constant acceleration. The solutions that have been obtained are presented in terms of generalized G functions. Moreover, these solutions satisfy both the governing differential equations and all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The corresponding solutions for ordinary second grade and Newtonian fluids are obtained as limiting cases of the general solutions. Finally, some characteristics of the motion, as well as the influences of the material and fractional parameters on the fluid motion and a comparison between models, are underlined by graphical illustrations.     

Universal series induced by approximate identities and some relevant applications

We prove the existence of series ∑a_nψ_n, whose coefficients (a_n) are in ∩_p>1?^p and whose terms (ψ_n) are translates by rational vectors in R^d of a family of approximations to the identity, having the property that the partial sums are dense in various spaces of functions such as Wiener’s algebra W(C₀,?¹), C_b(R^d), C₀(R^d), L^p(R^d), for every p∈[1,∞), and the space of measurable functions. Applying this theory to particular situations, we establish approximations by such series to solutions of the heat and Laplace equations as well as to probability density functions.

The coherent-constructible correspondence and Fourier-Mukai transforms

As evidence for his conjecture in birational log geometry, Kawamata constructed a family of derived equivalences between toric orbifolds. In a previous paper, the authors showed that the derived category of a toric orbifold is naturally identified with a category of polyhedrally-constructible sheaves on ℝ ⁿ . In this paper we investigate and reprove some of Kawamata’s results from this perspective.

An extension of the pairing theory between divergence-measure fields and BV functions

In this paper we introduce a nonlinear version of the notion of Anzellotti's pairing between divergence-measure vector fields and functions of bounded variation, motivated by possible applications to evolutionary quasilinear problems. As a consequence of our analysis, we prove a generalized Gauss–Green formula.     

A ruled residue theorem for function fields of conics

The ruled residue theorem characterises residue field extensions for valuations on a rational function field. Under the assumption that the characteristic of the residue field is different from 2 this theorem is extended here to function fields of conics. The main result is that there is at most one extension of a valuation on the base field to the function field of a conic for which the residue field extension is transcendental but not ruled. Furthermore the situation when this valuation is present is characterised.
