Solving fixed charge transportation problem with interval parameters

In the present paper the fixed charge transportation problem under uncertainty, particularly when parameters are given in interval forms, is formulated. In this case it is assumed that both cost and constraint parameters are arrived in interval numbers. Considering two different order relations for interval numbers, two solution procedures are developed in order to obtain an optimal solution for interval fixed charge transportation problem (IFCTP). In addition, the two order relations are compared to give a better comprehension of their differences. Furthermore, numerical examples are provided to illustrate each of solution procedures.     

On a fixed point theorem of Kirk

W.A. Kirk [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 277 (2003) 645-650] first introduced the notion of asymptotic contractions and proved the fixed point theorem for this class of mappings. In this note we present a new short and simple proof of Kirk's theorem.

本文首先讨论了一类混合单调算子方程组解的存在唯一性及非对称迭代逼近问题,得到了若干不具有连续性和紧性条件的有关混合单调算子、增算子和减算子的新不动点定理.其次研究了具有a-凹和-a-凸的不具有连续性和紧性条件的混合单调算子的不动点,并得到了一个新结果.最后,我们将所得结果应用于RN上的Hammerstein积分方程之中(参见文[1-12]).     

Strong convergence of iterative methods for k-strictly pseudo-contractive mappings in Hilbert spaces

In this paper, we introduce composite iterative schemes for finding fixed points of k-strictly pseudo-contractive mappings for some 0?k<1 in Hilbert spaces. Then, under certain different control conditions, we establish strong convergence theorems on the composite iterative schemes. The main theorems improve and generalize the recent corresponding results of Cho et al. [5] and Marino and Xu [9] as well as Halpern [6], Wittmann [12], Moudafi [10] and Xu [14].

Branching random walks,stable point processes and regular variation

Using the theory of regular variation, we give a sufficient condition for a point process to be in the superposition domain of attraction of a strictly stable point process. This sufficient condition is used to obtain the weak limit of a sequence of point processes induced by a branching random walk with jointly regularly varying displacements. Because of heavy tails of the step size distribution, we can invoke a one large jump principle at the level of point processes to give an explicit representation of the limiting point process. As a consequence, we extend the main result of Durrett (1983) and verify that two related predictions of Brunet and Derrida (2011) remain valid for this model.
