Also it was proved by the third author of this article that a finite simple group can be uniquely determined by its character table. A mathematical theory of time-dependent dislocation mechanics of
unrestricted geometric and material nonlinearity is reviewed. Within
a ``small deformation" setting, a suite of simplified and
interesting models consisting of a nonlocal Ginzburg Landau
equation, a nonlocal level set equation, and a nonlocal generalized
Burgers equation is derived. In the finite deformation setting, it
is shown that an additive decomposition of the total velocity
gradient into elastic and plastic parts emerges naturally from a
micromechanical starting point that involves no notion of plastic
deformation but only the elastic distortion, material velocity,
dislocation density and the dislocation velocity. Moreover, a

The Willmore flow is well known problem from the differential geometry. It minimizes the Willmore functional defined as integral of the mean-curvature square over given manifold. For the graph formulation, we derive modification of the Willmore flow with anisotropic mean curvature. We define the weak solution and we prove an energy equality. We approximate the solution numerically by the complementary finite volume method. To show the stability, we re-formulate the resulting scheme in terms of the finite difference method. By using simple framework of the finite difference method (FDM) we show discrete version of the energy equality. The time discretization is done by the method of lines and the resulting system of ODEs is solved by the Runge–Kutta–Merson solver with adaptive integration step. We also show experimental order of convergence as well as results of the numerical experiments, both for several different anisotropies. 相似文献

In this work we focus on the efficient representation and computation of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the surface Schrödinger operator that governs a class of nonlinear Ginzburg–Landau (GL) superconductivity models on rotationally symmetric Riemannian 2-manifolds S. We identify and analyze a complete orthonormal system in of eigenmodes having a variable-separated form. For the unknown functions in this ansatz, our analysis facilitates the identification of approximate spectral problems whose eigenvalues lie arbitrarily near corresponding eigenvalues of the Schrödinger operator. In this paper, we consider the numerical solution of the flame front equation,
which is one of the most fundamental equations for modeling combustion theory.
A schema combining a finite difference approach in the time direction and a spectral
method for the space discretization is proposed. We give a detailed analysis for the
proposed schema by providing some stability and error estimates in a particular case.
For the general case, although we are unable to provide a rigorous proof for the stability,
some numerical experiments are carried out to verify the efficiency of the schema.
Our numerical results show that the stable solution manifolds have a simple structure
when $\beta$ is small, while they become more complex as the bifurcation parameter $\beta$ increases. At last numerical experiments were performed to support the claim the

In the present paper, the numerical damage assessment of the masonry bell tower called “Haghia Sophia” in Trabzon, Turkey is performed by nonlinear 3D finite element modeling. The behavior of bell tower is determined under several different conditions: nonlinear static analysis containing dead and wind loads and nonlinear seismic analysis. In addition to, an assessment of the tower’s stability with respect to the tilt of the tower is carried out by means of a nonlinear analysis. In the nonlinear dynamic analysis, the east–west component of 1992 Erzincan earthquake is used. Cracking and crushing of the masonry have been taken into account, as well as the influence of material nonlinearity. The numerical analysis has given a valuable picture of possible damage evolution, providing useful hints for the prosecution of structural monitoring. The displacement and stress fields, as well as the distribution of cracking have been calculated and compared to the actual distribution of fractures in the tower. It is seen from the numerical results that there is a good agreement with present damages of the bell tower. 相似文献
