We prove that certain two-point Padé approximants occupying the diagonal of the Padé table form monotone sequences of lower and upper bounds uniformly converging to a Stieltjes function. The results can be applied to the theory of inhomogeneous media for the calculation of the bounds on the effective transport coefficients of heterogeneous materials. 相似文献

In this paper, we first reduce the problem of finding a minimum parity (g,f)-factor of a graph G into the problem of finding a minimum perfect matching in a weighted simple graph G*. Using the structure of G*, a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of an even factor is derived.

Many important problems are closely related to the zeros of certain polynomials derived from combinatorial objects. The aim of this paper is to observe some results and applications for the Hurwitz stability of polynomials in combinatorics and study other related problems.We first present a criterion for the Hurwitz stability of the Turán expressions of recursive polynomials. In particular, it implies the q-log-convexity or q-log-concavity of the original polynomials. We also give a criterion for the Hurwitz stability of recursive polynomials and prove that the Hurwitz stability of any palindromic polynomial implies its semi-γ-positivity, which illustrates that the original polynomial with odd degree is unimodal. In particular, we get that the semi-γ-positivity of polynomials implies their parity-unimodality and the Hurwitz stability of polynomials implies their parity-log-concavity. Those results generalize the connections between real-rootedness, γ-positivity, log-concavity and unimodality to Hurwitz stability, semi-γ-positivity, parity-log-concavity and parity-unimodality (unimodality). As applications of these criteria, we derive some Hurwitz stability results occurred in the literature in a unified manner. In addition, we obtain the Hurwitz stability of Turán expressions for alternating run polynomials of types A and B and the Hurwitz stability for alternating run polynomials defined on a dual set of Stirling permutations.Finally, we study a class of recursive palindromic polynomials and derive many nice properties including Hurwitz stability, semi-γ-positivity, non-γ-positivity, unimodality, strong q-log-convexity, the Jacobi continued fraction expansion and the relation with derivative polynomials. We study the H and H− survival probabilities during collisions with Cu(100) and Cu(111) surfaces, at energies ranging from 0.5 to 5 keV and exit angles ranging from 20° to 90°. Calculations are performed with the Wave‐Packet Propagation method adapted to ion‐surface interactions. The projectile survival probability depends on the perpendicular velocity and the copper face being investigated. Projectile's interaction time with the surface and the distance of closest approach are important factors that influence the survival. The H− survival on Cu(100) is much smaller than on Cu(111) but only at low velocities, while becoming higher or comparable to Cu(111) for higher velocities. For very fast collisions, the copper surface behaves like a jellium, and the electron involved in charge transfer does not “feel” the particularities of the surface band structure anymore. While the H survival on Cu(100) seems to not depend on energy and exit angle, the H survival on Cu(111) is both energy and angle dependent, and it is smaller. The study of partial density of states indicates that strong atom‐surface interactions at short distances and the role played by surface states are important factors in determining the neutral fractions obtained after scattering. 相似文献
