Open problems in pluripotential theory

We propose a list of open problems in pluripotential theory partially motivated by their applications to complex differential geometry. The list includes both local questions as well as issues related to the compact complex manifold setting.     

An approach for solving a fuzzy multiobjective programming problem

In this paper we present a new approach, based on the Nearest Interval Approximation Operator, for dealing with a multiobjective programming problem with fuzzy-valued objective functions.     

On a sufficient condition for a Fano manifold to be covered by rational N-folds

In this paper, we prove a conjecture by T. Suzuki, which says if a smooth Fano manifold satisfies some positivity condition on its Chern characters, then it can be covered by rational N-folds. We prove this conjecture by using purely combinatorial properties of Bernoulli numbers.     

Numerical modeling of chlorine concentration in water storage tanks

In this paper, we describe a numerical model to simulate the evolution in time of the hydrodynamics of water storage tanks, with particular emphasis on the time evolution of chlorine concentration. The mathematical model contains several ingredients particularly designed for this problem, namely, a boundary condition to model falling jets on free surfaces, an arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian formulation to account for the motion of the free surface because of demand and supply of water, and a coupling of the hydrodynamics with a convection–diffusion–reaction equation modeling the time evolution of chlorine. From the numerical point of view, the equations resulting from the mathematical model are approximated using a finite element formulation, with linear continuous interpolations on tetrahedra for all the unknowns. To make it possible, and also to be able to deal with convection‐dominated flows, a stabilized formulation is used. In order to capture the sharp gradients present in the chlorine concentration, particularly near the injection zone, a discontinuity capturing technique is employed. 一类精细化Eulerian多项式的若干性质

最近,孙华定义了一类新的精细化Eulerian多项式,即$$A_n(p,q)=\sum_{\pi\in \mathfrak{S}_n}p^{{\rm odes}(\pi)}q^{{\rm edes}(\pi)},\ \ n\ge 1,$$ 其中$S_n$表示$\{1,2,\ldots,n\}$上全体$n$阶排列的集合, odes$(\pi)$与edes$(\pi)$分别表示$S_n$中排列$\pi$的奇数位与偶数位上降位数的个数.本文利用经典的Eulerian多项式$A_n(q)$ 与Catalan 序列的生成函数$C(q)$,得到精细化Eulerian 多项式$A_n(p,q)$的指数型生成函数及$A_n(p,q)$的显示表达式.在一些特殊情形,本文建立了$A_n(p,q)$与$A_n(0,q)$或$A_n(p,0)$之间的联系,并利用Eulerian数表示多项式$A_n(0,q)$的系数.特别地,这些联系揭示了Euler数$E_n$与Eulerian数$A_{n,k}$之间的一种新的关系.     

Norms and lower bounds of some matrix operators on Fibonacci weighted difference sequence space
