An existence theorem of Walrasian equilibrium

The purpose of this note is to establish an existence theorem for Walrasian equilibrium under weaker conditions.     

RELATIVE ESSENTIAL SPECTRA INVOLVING RELATIVE DEMICOMPACT UNBOUNDED LINEAR OPERATORS

In this article, we introduce the concept of demicompactness with respect to a closed densely defined linear operator, as a generalization of the class of demicompact operator introduced by Petryshyn in [24] and we establish some new results in Fredholm theory. Moreover, we apply the obtained results to discuss the incidence of some perturbation results on the behavior of relative essential spectra of unbounded linear operators acting on Banach spaces. We conclude by characterizations of the relative Schechter＇s and approximate essential spectrum.     

Instability of the finite‐difference split‐step method applied to the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation. III. external potential and oscillating pulse solutions

This is the final part of a series of articles where we have studied numerical instability (NI) of localized solutions of the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation (gNLS). It extends our earlier studies of this topic in two ways. First, it examines differences in the development of the NI between the case of the purely cubic NLS and the case where the gNLS has an external bounded potential. Second, it investigates how the NI is affected by the oscillatory dynamics of the simulated pulse. The latter situation is common when the initial condition is not an exact stationary soliton. We have found that in this case, the NI may remain weak when the time step exceeds the threshold quite significantly. This means that the corresponding numerical solution, while formally numerically unstable, can remain sufficiently accurate over long times, because the numerical noise will stay small. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Multiple solutions for a nonlinear and non-homogeneous problem in Orlicz-Sobolev spaces

We study a non-homogeneous boundary value problem in a smooth bounded domain in R^N. We prove the existence of at least two non-negative and non-trivial weak solutions. Our approach relies on Orlicz-Sobolev spaces theory combined with adequate variational methods and a variant of Mountain Pass Lemma.     

G-Frame and Riesz Sequences in Hilbert Spaces

G-frames generalize frames in Hilbert spaces. The literatures show that g-frames and frames share many similar properties, while they behave differently in redundancy and perturbation properties. Interestingly, g-frames have been extensively studied, but g-frame sequences have not. This problem is nontrivial since a g-frame and a frame both involve all vectors in the same Hilbert space, while a g-frame sequence and a frame sequence do not. They involve different linear spans. Using the synthesis and Gram matrix methods, we in this paper characterize g-frame sequences and g-Riesz sequences; obtain the Pythagorean theorem for g-orthonormal systems. These results recover several known results and lead to some new results on g-frames.     

ON CERTAIN CLASS OF MEROMORPHIC FUNCTIONS WITH POSITIVE COEFFICIENTS

In the present investigation we define a new class of meromorphic functions on the punctured unit disk △*:= {z ∈ C : 0 < |z| < 1} by making use of the generalized Dziok-Srivastava operator H l m [α1 ]. Coefficient inequalities, growth and distortion inequalities, as well as closure results are obtained. We also establish some results concerning the partial sums of meromorphic functions and neighborhood results for functions in new class.     

Exact WKB analysis of a Schrödinger equation with a merging triplet of two simple poles and one simple turning point,II — Its relevance to the Mathieu equation and the Legendre equation

We develop the exact WKB analysis of an M2P1T (merging two simple poles and one simple turning point) Schrödinger equation. In Part II, using a WKB-theoretic transformation to the algebraic Mathieu equation constructed in Part I, we calculate the alien derivative of its Borel transformed WKB solutions at each fixed singular point relevant to the simple poles through the analysis of Borel transformed WKB solutions of the Legendre equations. In the course of the calculation of the alien derivative we make full use of microdifferential operators whose symbols are given by the infinite series that appear in the coefficients of the algebraic Mathieu equation and the Legendre equation.
