Closely packed dense frequency selective surface

In order to realize wideband filtering properties of frequency selective surface （FSS）, FSS of closely packed elements is presented. The Y loop elements are chosen as the graphics elements. Based on the spectral domain method, the frequency response is analyzed for different incident angles and polarizations. The result of the numerical analysis shows that the dense FSS has wide passband with better independence of angle and polarization.

Large deviations: An introduction to 2007 Abel prize

2007 Abel prize has been awarded to S R S Varadhan for creating a unified theory of large deviations. We attempt to give a flavour of this branch of probability theory, highlighting the role of Varadhan.     

Phase diagrams of the mixed spin-1 and spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on the diamond-like decorated Bethe lattice

The ground-state and finite-temperature behavior of the mixed spin-1 and spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on the diamond-like decorated Bethe lattice is investigated within the framework of two rigorous methods: the decoration-iteration transformation and exact recursion relations. The model under consideration describes a hybrid classical-quantum system consisting of the Ising and Heisenberg spins, which interact among themselves either through the Ising or XXZ Heisenberg nearest-neighbor interaction. Both sublattice magnetizations of the Ising and Heisenberg spins are exactly calculated with the aim to examine phase diagrams, thermal variations of the total and sublattice magnetizations. The finite-temperature phase diagrams form continuous (second-order) phase transition lines only, which exhibit a small reentrant region if the diamond-like decorated Bethe lattice with a sufficiently high coordination number is considered.     

APPROXIMATION BY COMPLEX SZASZ-DURRMEYER OPERATORS IN COMPACT DISKS

In the present paper, we deal with the complex Szasz-Durrmeyer operators and study Voronovskaja type results with quantitative estimates for these operators attached to analytic functions of exponential growth on compact disks. Also, the exact order of approximation is found.     

Verification by Stochastic Perron's Method in stochastic exit time control problems

We apply the Stochastic Perron Method, created by Bayraktar and Sîrbu, to a stochastic exit time control problem. Our main assumption is the validity of the Strong Comparison Result for the related Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation. Without relying on Bellman's optimality principle we prove that inside the domain the value function is continuous and coincides with a viscosity solution of the Dirichlet boundary value problem for the HJB equation.     

对偶Brunn-Minkowski不等式的逆

20世纪80年代Milman曾指出:反向Brunn-Minkowski不等式是凸几何的一个深刻的结果.考虑了对偶情况,建立了一个反向的对偶Brunn-Minkowski不等式.进一步,均值积分差的反向对偶Brunn-Minkowski型不等式也被建立.     

PREPARATION OF POLY（METHYL METHACRYLATE）/LAYERED DOUBLE HYDROXIDES NANOCOMPOSITES via in situ SOLUTION POLYMERIZATION

An exfoliated layered double hydroxides/poly(methyl methacrylate)(LDHs/PMMA)nanocomposite was prepared by in situ solution polymerization of methyl methacrylate(MMA)in the presence of 4-vinylbenzenesulfonate intercalated LDHs(MgAl-VBS LDHs).MgAl-VBS LDHs was prepared by the ion exchange method,and the structure and composition of the MgA1-VBS LDHs were determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD),infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis.XRD and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)were employed to examine the structure of LDHs/PMMA nanocomposite.It was indicated that the LDHs layers were well exfoliated and dispersed in the PMMA matrix.The grafting of PMMA onto LDHs was confirmed by the extraction result and the weight fraction of grafted PMMA increased as the weight fraction of LDHs in the nanocomposites increased.     

ON LAGRANGE INTERPOLATION TO |x|α(1 ＜α＜ 2) WITH EQUALLY SPACED NODES

S.M. Lozinskii proved the exact convergence rate at the zero of Lagrange interpolation polynomials to |x| based on equidistant nodes in [-1, 1]. In 2000, M. Rever generalized S.M. Lozinskii's result to |x|α(0 ≤α≤ 1). In this paper we will present the exact rate of convergence at the point zero for the interpolants of |x|α(1 ＜α＜ 2)..
