Some subclasses of multivalent functions involving a certain linear operator

The authors investigate various inclusion and other properties of several subclasses of the class Ap of normalized p-valent analytic functions in the open unit disk, which are defined here by means of a certain linear operator. Problems involving generalized neighborhoods of analytic functions in the class Ap are investigated. Finally, some applications of fractional calculus operators are considered.     

Corrigendum to “On norms of composition operators acting on Bergman spaces” [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 291 (2004) 189-202]

A theorem and a corollary in the paper cited in the title were stated incorrectly, as was pointed out by Christopher Hammond. We now state correctly and prove both of them. These results still generalize and explain the geometric meaning of the Cowen-Hurst norm formula. We also include additional references and provide an example relevant for further study.     

Euclidean algorithms are Gaussian

We obtain a central limit theorem for a general class of additive parameters (costs, observables) associated to three standard Euclidean algorithms, with optimal speed of convergence. We also provide very precise asymptotic estimates and error terms for the mean and variance of such parameters. For costs that are lattice (including the number of steps), we go further and establish a local limit theorem, with optimal speed of convergence. We view an algorithm as a dynamical system restricted to rational inputs, and combine tools imported from dynamics, such as transfer operators, with various other techniques: Dirichlet series, Perron's formula, quasi-powers theorems, and the saddle-point method. Such dynamical analyses had previously been used to perform the average-case analysis of algorithms. For the present (dynamical) analysis in distribution, we require estimates on transfer operators when a parameter varies along vertical lines in the complex plane. To prove them, we adapt techniques introduced recently by Dolgopyat in the context of continuous-time dynamics (Ann. Math. 147 (1998) 357).

In this paper, two iterative schemes for approximating common element of the set of zero points of maximal monotone operators and the set of fixed points of a kind of generalized nonexpansive mappings in a real uniformly smooth and uniformly convex Banach space are proposed. Two strong convergence theorems are obtained and their applications on finding the minimizer of a kind of convex functional are discussed, which extend some previous work.

Global Well-Posedness of the BCL System with Viscosity

The BCL system, a kind of equations governing the motion of the free surface of water waves in R3, is studied. Some results on the global existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions to such system with small initial data are obtained.
