We study a problem of diffraction of a cylindrical acoustic wave from an absorbing half plane in a moving fluid introducing Myers' condition [M.K. Myers, On the acoustic boundary condition in the presence of flow, J. Sound Vibration 71 (1980) 429] and present an improved form of the analytic solution for the diffracted field. The importance of the work lies in the fact that Myers' condition (a generalization of Ingard's impedance condition) is now the accepted form of the boundary condition for impedance barriers with flow and hence yields a correct form of the field. The method of solution consists of Fourier transform, Wiener-Hopf technique and the modified method of stationary phase.  相似文献

Theoretical and experimental study of Diffraction Radiation Oscillator (DRO) is reported in this paper, it is the first work done in P. R. China. The sphere-cylindrical open cavity used in the DRO has been analysed, the method for testing the field profile and the cold measurement of the open cavity have been worked out. The experimental device was manufactured in our lab. and the theoretical analysis and experimental study of the device have been carried out. The main experimental results are: from 2000 V to 4000 V, the tube operates in the 60–87 GHz band, and the maximum output power is about 800 mW.  相似文献

A passive technique for high-resolution detection of the wavelength of peak reflection from fibre Bragg grating (FBG) sensors is presented. The approach, based on a de-convolution of the FBG spectrum and the spectrometer resolution, essentially overcomes the low spectral resolution (≈0.1 nm) associated with commercial spectrometers employing CCD detection. The performance of two algorithms, the Centroid Detection algorithm (CDA) and the least squares method (LSQ), are compared. The LSQ algorithm offers resolution enhancement of at least two orders of magnitude and is shown to be independent of the FBG intensity and bandwidth over a broad range.  相似文献

A finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method combined with a periodic boundary condition is used to analyze the diffraction efficiency of an etched diffraction grating (EDG) demultiplexer coated with a metallic film at the backside. The numerical results show that the diffraction loss is mainly due to the scattering effect of shaded facets of a metal-coated grating at both the polarizations. However, the same shaded facets can produce a higher loss for a TM polarization than that for a TE polarization, which induces a higher polarization dependent loss (PDL) of the demultiplexer.  相似文献

The processes limiting the rate of response of highly diffractive, reorientationally enhanced photorefractive polymer composite materials are identified from a series of degenerate four wave mixing and Mach–Zehnder interferometric measurements. In the regime of low intensity writing beams charge generation limits the rate of holographic grating formation, but at higher intensities charge transport or reorientation of dye molecules can restrict the rate of grating formation more strongly. A grating risetime of 540 ms is observed in a composite of high dye content with high reorientational mobility of the dye molecules. In this case it is proposed that the charge carrier mobility of the doped poly(N-vinylcarbazole):2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone (PVK:TNF) matrix is the principal limiting factor in grating response rates.  相似文献

A theoretical model of disorder for the etched holes or pillars in a generic two-dimensional photonic crystal slab is presented. This model is employed to calculate the effects of size disorder on propagation losses in linear photonic crystal waveguides as well as on quality (Q)-factors in photonic crystal nano-cavities. The main results obtained by the present theory and shown in this work are: (a) large single-mode bandwidth and low-loss (<0.1 dB/mm) propagation of light is predicted for increased-width membrane-type photonic crystal waveguides, (b) pillar-based lattices show reduced sensitivity to size fluctuations than hole-based ones, (c) the effects of disorder on cavity Q-factors are quantitatively evaluated. An extension of the model is also introduced in order to take into account the side-wall micro-roughness of the perfectly vertical holes, and preliminary results of this more general approach are discussed.  相似文献

The photorefractive planar lens for converting a vertical incident plane wave to a lateral-spread spherical wave and vice versa, is suggested. Using the two-beam coupled-wave theory, the coupled wave equations are derived and their half-analytical solutions are also given in terms of an infinite series. The diffraction properties (beam profiles, diffraction efficiency) of the local volume grating in the lens are presented. And the focusing property of the lens is discussed and compared with that of an ideal convergent spherical wave. It is demonstrated that the suggested photorefractive planar lens shows a good focusing effect.  相似文献

This paper reviews some useful analytical and empirical formulae that are used for the calculation of sound diffracted by a barrier. A brief historic overview of the study of spherical waves diffracted by a rigid half plane is presented also. The physical principles of sound diffraction by a thin plane are explained. The mathematical expressions are cast in a convenient form for ease of numerical implementation. Accurate analytical solutions are expressed in terms of standard mathematical functions that can be computed readily. Among the approximate solutions quoted, quite a few empirical formulations are adequate for most engineering purposes. The information presented in this paper should also be helpful for those who are interested in the study of sound diffracted by a barrier in a room or in a long industrial space.  相似文献

A novel precision wavemeter is presented with a resolution of better than 0·01 nm. A Sagnac interferometer with two diffraction gratings forms the basis of the instrument. Using spatial heterodyning techniques and a CCD camera/frame grabber data acquisition system allows fast computer control and power spectrum analysis. The mode structure and mode hopping characteristics of a typical laser diode were examined as a function of diode injection current.  相似文献
