Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis is a standard thermal analysis technique used to determine the phase transition temperature, enthalpy, heat of fusion, specific heat and activation energy of phase change materials (PCMs). To determine the appropriate heating rate and sample mass, various DSC measurements were carried out using two kinds of PCMs, namely N-octadecane paraffin and calcium chloride hexahydrate. The variations in phase transition temperature, enthalpy, heat of fusion, specific heat and activation energy were observed within applicable heating rates and sample masses. It was found that the phase transition temperature range increased with increasing heating rate and sample mass; while the heat of fusion varied without any established pattern. The specific heat decreased with the increase of heating rate and sample mass. For accuracy purpose, it is recommended that for PCMs with high thermal conductivity (e.g. hydrated salt) the focus will be on heating rate rather than sample mass. 相似文献

The lithium ion conducting solid polymer electrolytes (SPE) based on PVAc-LiClO4 of various compositions were prepared by solution casting technique. Structure and surface morphology characterization were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements, respectively. Thermal and conductivity behavior of polymer-salt complexes were studied by employing differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and ac impedance measurements, respectively. XRD and SEM analyses indicate the amorphous nature of the polymer-salt complexes. DSC measurements show decrease in Tg with the increase in LiClO4 concentrations. The bulk conductivity of the PVAc:LiClO4 polymer electrolytes was found to vary between 7.6×10−7 and 6.2×10−5 S cm−1 at 303 K with the increase in salt concentration. The temperature dependence of the polymer electrolyte complexes appear to obey Arrhenius law. 相似文献

The problem of fixed-time stability of switched systems is studied. With the aid of the multiple Lyapunov function method, constraints on switching signals are derived under which global fixed-time stability of zero solutions of considered systems can be guaranteed. Sufficient conditions of fixed-time stability for Persidskii-type systems are obtained. The developed approaches are applied to the problem of the fixed-time deployment of mobile agents over a line segment under protocols with switched communication topology. This paper experimentally and theoretically examines the scattering properties of simulated non-spherical hydrometeors including water oblates, ice oblates and ice sphere-cone-oblates, in terms of the backscattering cross-section and the differential reflectivity. The experimental measurements of the backscattering cross-sections of non-spherical hydrometeor samples were performed in the Electromagnetic Scattering Laboratory of China National Space Industrial Corporation. Meanwhile, the backscattering cross-sections have been computed with the transition (T) matrix method. The theoretical results are compared with the experimental data, showing that the calculations are consistent with the observations in general. Experimental and theoretical analyses indicate that the backscattering cross-section of non-spherical particles increases as the particle size parameter increases, and fluctuates when the sizes are larger under the effect of resonance scattering. Differential reflectivity ZDR of water oblates in natural rainfall is always greater than 0 dB whereas ZDR of hailstones may be negative. There is a good linear relationship between differential reflectivity and aspect ratio of a particle. These derivations agree with the literature and can be used to identify the presence of hail particles and distinguish between plate-type and columnar-type hydrometeors. In this study, the measuring experiment and the T-matrix method calculations for the scattering of simulated raindrop and ice particles are also briefly described. 相似文献

The surfaces of Demoulin constitute an important subclass of surfaces in projective differential geometry which arise in many seemingly unrelated geometric constructions. Analytically, they are described by a two-component system which coincides with the D3(1) Toda lattice. The quantum theory of angular momentum affords a treatment of tensors and vectors in a spherical basis. By using this theory we define the tensor differential operators: divergence, curl and gradient which act on a tensor of any rank, in terms of C-G coefficients. With these definitions we obtain a matrix representation and useful properties for those operators. An interesting application of this formalism is to find the wave equation of a tensor of any rank in a linear theory. This provides a new common way to look at the wave equations associated with both Maxwell's equations and the Maxwell-like equations for the linearized Weyl curvature tensor in gravitoelectromagnetism describing gravitational radiation on a Minkowski spacetime background. 相似文献

A differential fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor with a free active element bulk-modulus for high-pressure (or displacement) measurement is presented. Based on the differential measurement method and an isosceles triangle cantilever structure, problems of cross-sensitivity and chirped signal in FBG sensor are improved both theoretically and experimentally. Preliminary experiments indicate that temperature-compensated measurement results agree well with the theoretical analysis. Displacement measurement sensitivity is 1.75 pm/μm, and the estimated pressure measurement resolution can reach 0.27 MPa in case the wavelength shift measurement resolution is 0.01 nm. 相似文献
