This study proposes a new forcing scheme suitable for massively-parallel finite-difference simulations of stationary isotropic turbulence. The proposed forcing scheme, named reduced-communication forcing (RCF), is based on the same idea as the conventional large-scale forcing scheme, but requires much less data communication, leading to a high parallel efficiency. It has been confirmed that the RCF scheme works intrinsically in the same manner as the conventional large-scale forcing scheme. Comparisons have revealed that a fourth-order finite-difference model run in combination with the RCF scheme (FDM-RCF) is as good as a spectral model, while requiring less computational costs. For the range 80 < Reλ < 540, where Reλ is the Taylor microscale-based Reynolds number, large computations using the FDM-RCF scheme show that the Reynolds dependences of skewness and flatness factors have similar power-laws as found in previous studies.  相似文献

New features of noise-induced climate variability are revealed on the basis of the three-dimensional model derived by Saltzman and Maasch. It is shown that the climate system can be highly noise excitable and it possesses the large-amplitude fluctuations even in those regions where its akin deterministic model does not contain any self-sustained oscillations. Intermittency in small- and large amplitude climate fluctuations between different basins of attraction of a limit cycle and stable equilibria substantially influencing the climate state (from warm to cold and vice versa) are found at various noise intensities. Suddenly occurring jumps between the basins of attraction of two stable equilibria corresponding to the warm and cold climate states are statistically confirmed under a certain diapason of noise intensities. The climate system undergoes transitions between its equilibria in the presence of noise in its prognostic variables. In addition, such transitions become more likely with increasing the noise intensity.  相似文献

A global forcing set in a simple connected graph G with a perfect matching is any subset S of E(G) such that the restriction of the characteristic function of perfect matchings of G on S is an injection. The number of edges in a global forcing set of the smallest cardinality is called the global forcing number of G. In this paper we prove several results concerning global forcing sets and numbers of benzenoid graphs. In particular, we prove that all catacondensed benzenoids and catafused coronoids with n hexagons have the global forcing number equal to n, and that for pericondensed benzenoids the global forcing number is always strictly smaller than the number of hexagons.  相似文献

RADIATIVE FORCING AND GREENHOUSE EFFECT DUE TO THE ATMOSPHERIC TRACE GASES   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
The radiative forcing and greenhouse effect due to the atmospheric trace gases have been calculated by using an advanced radiative-convective model developed in this paper. The relationship between radiative forcing and concentration is given for each trace gas. The resuhs show that (ⅰ) the radiative forcing and then the greenhouse effect are significantly affected by the overlapping of atmospheric absorption bands; (ⅱ) the increasing concentration of trace gases other than CO_2, such as CH_4, N_2O, CFCs, etc., may potentially play an important role in the future global warming;(ⅲ) the proposed substitutes, such as HCFC124 and HFC125, for the chlorofluorocarbons which are considered to destroy the ozone layer have still considerable greenhouse effect even though their ozone depletion potentials are much smaller than CFCs; and (ⅳ) the feedback processes within the earth-atmosphere system have important effect on the surface temperature change due to the radiative forcing to the system.  相似文献

We continue [21] and study partition numbers of partial orderings which are related to (ω)/fin. In particular, we investigate Pf, be the suborder of ((ω)/fin)ω containing only filtered elements, the Mathias partial order M, and (ω), (ω)ω the lattice of (infinite) partitions of ω, respectively. We show that Solomon's inequality holds for M and that it consistently fails for Pf. We show that the partition number of (ω) is C. We also show that consistently the distributivity number of (ω)ω is smaller than the distributivity number of (ω)/fin. We also investigate partitions of a Polish space into closed sets. We show that such a partition either is countable or has size at least D, where D is the dominating number. We also show that the existence of a dominating family of size 1 does not imply that a Polish space can be partitioned into 1 many closed sets.  相似文献

An unsteady numerical simulation was performed for locally forced separated and reattaching flow over a backward-facing step. The local forcing was given to the separated and reattaching flow by means of a sinusoidally oscillating jet from a separation line. A version of the k––fμ model was employed, in which the near-wall behavior without reference to distance and the nonequilibrium effect in the recirculation region were incorporated. The Reynolds number based on the step height (H) was fixed at ReH=33 000, and the forcing frequency was varied in the range 0StH2. The predicted results were compared and validated with the experimental data of Chun and Chun. It was shown that the unsteady locally forced separated and reattaching flows are predicted reasonably well with the k––fμ model. To characterize the large-scale vortex evolution due to the local forcing, numerical flow visualizations were carried out.  相似文献

In the present paper, a direct forcing/fictitious domain (DF/FD)–level set method is proposed to simulate the twophase flow–body interaction. The DF/FD does not sacrifice accuracy and robustness by employing a discrete δ (Dirac delta) function to transfer quantities between the Eulerian nodes and Lagrangian points explicitly as the immersed boundary method. The advantages of this approach are the simple concept, the easy implementation and the utilization of original governing equation without modification. The main idea is to combine DF/FD method with the level set method in the Cartesian coordinates. We present the results of a number of test cases to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method for single‐phase flow–body interaction problem and the two‐phase flows with a stationary body. Eventually, the simulations of various water entry problems have been conducted to validate the capability and the accuracy of the present method on solving the twophase flow–body interaction.
