Operator norm localization for linear groups and its application to K-theory

We prove the operator norm localization property for linear groups. As an application we prove the coarse Novikov conjecture for box spaces of a linear group.     

Hypercyclicity,supercyclicity and generalized rakočević's property

A Banach space operator satisfies generalized Rakocevic's property (gw) if the complement of its upper semi B-Weyl spectrum in its approximate point spectrum is the set of eigenvalues of T which are isolated in the spectrum of T. In this note, we characterize hypecyclic and supercyclic operators satisfying the property (gw).     

Pseudospectral reduction of incompressible two-dimensional turbulence

Spectral reduction was originally formulated entirely in the wavenumber domain as a coarse-grained wavenumber convolution in which bins of modes interact with enhanced coupling coefficients. A Liouville theorem leads to inviscid equipartition solutions when each bin contains the same number of modes. A pseudospectral implementation of spectral reduction which enjoys the efficiency of the fast Fourier transform is described. The model compares well with full pseudospectral simulations of the two-dimensional forced-dissipative energy and enstrophy cascades.     

Ideals in the Roe Algebras of Discrete Metric Spaces with Coefficients in B(H)

The notion of an ideal family of weighted subspaces of a discrete metric space X with bounded geometry is introduced.It is shown that,if X has Yu's property A,the ideal structure of the Roe algebra of X with coefficients in B(H) is completely characterized by the ideal families of weighted subspaces of X,where B(H) denotes the C*-algebra of bounded linear operators on a separable Hilbert space H.
