In this study, we propose a modelling framework for evaluating companies financed by random liabilities, such as insurance companies or commercial banks. In this approach, earnings and costs are driven by double exponential jump–diffusion processes and bankruptcy is declared when the income falls below a default threshold, which is proportional to the charges. A change of numeraire, under the Esscher risk neutral measure, is used to reduce the dimension. A closed form expression for the value of equity is obtained in terms of the expected present value operators, with and without disinvestment delay. In both cases, we determine the default threshold that maximizes the shareholder’s equity. Subsequently, the probabilities of default are obtained by inverting the Laplace transform of the bankruptcy time. In numerical applications of the proposed model, we apply a procedure for calibration based on market and accounting data to explain the behaviour of shares for two real-world examples of insurance companies.  相似文献

We consider the realization of a quantum computer in a chain of nuclear spins coupled by an Ising interaction. Quantum algorithms can be performed with the help of appropriate radio-frequency pulses. In addition to the standard nearest-neighbor Ising coupling, we also allow for a second neighbor coupling. It is shown, how to apply the 2π k method in this more general setting, where the additional coupling eventually allows to save a few pulses. We illustrate our results with two numerical simulations: the Shor prime factorization of the number 4 and the teleportation of a qubit along a chain of 3 qubits. In both cases, the optimal Rabi frequency (to suppress non-resonant effects) depends primarily on the strength of the second neighbor interaction.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical problem modelling some characteristics of near field optical microscope.We take a monofrequency line source to illuminate a sample with constant index of refraction and use the scattered field data measured near the sample to reconstruct the shape of it. Mixed reciprocity relation and factorization method are applied to solve our problem.Some numerical examples to show the feasibility of the method are presented.  相似文献

In this article, we derive upper bounds of different growth factors for the LU factorization, which are dominated by A11(k)-1A12(k),A21(k)A11(k)-1, where A11(k), A12(k), A21(k), A22(k) are sub-matrices of A. A unification of some factorization results regarding products of positive-definite matrices, commutators, and products of involutions is presented. This topic was first presented by Sourour for fields with, in the latter two classes, sufficiently many elements in terms of the order of the matrix being factored. A significant reduction in the computational effort for the evaluation of the electronic repulsion integrals (ERI) in ab initio quantum chemistry calculations is obtained by using Cholesky decomposition (CD), a numerical procedure that can remove the zero or small eigenvalues of the ERI positive (semi)definite matrix, while avoiding the calculation of the entire matrix. Conversely, due to its antisymmetric character, CD cannot be directly applied to the matrix representation of the spatial part of the two‐electron spin‐orbit coupling (2e‐SOC) integrals. Here, we present a computational strategy to achieve a Cholesky representation of the spatial part of the 2e‐SOC integrals, and propose a new efficient CD algorithm for both ERI and 2e‐SOC integrals. The proposed algorithm differs from previous CD implementations by the extensive use of a full‐pivoting design, which allows a univocal definition of the Cholesky basis, once the CD δ threshold is made explicit. We show that is the upper limit for the errors affecting the reconstructed 2e‐SOC integrals. The proposed strategy was implemented in the ab initio program Computational Emulator of Rare Earth Systems (CERES), and tested for computational performance on both the ERI and 2e‐SOC integrals evaluation. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

A fast algorithm for solving systems of linear equations with banded Toeplitz matrices is studied. An important step in the algorithm is a novel method for the spectral factorization of the generating function associated with the Toeplitz matrix. The spectral factorization is extracted from the right deflating subspaces corresponding to the eigenvalues inside and outside the open unit disk of a companion matrix pencil constructed from the coefficients of the generating function. The factorization is followed by the Woodbury inversion formula and solution of several banded triangular systems. A Heuristic for Moment-Matching Scenario Generation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In stochastic programming models we always face the problem of how to represent the random variables. This is particularly difficult with multidimensional distributions. We present an algorithm that produces a discrete joint distribution consistent with specified values of the first four marginal moments and correlations. The joint distribution is constructed by decomposing the multivariate problem into univariate ones, and using an iterative procedure that combines simulation, Cholesky decomposition and various transformations to achieve the correct correlations without changing the marginal moments.With the algorithm, we can generate 1000 one-period scenarios for 12 random variables in 16 seconds, and for 20 random variables in 48 seconds, on a Pentium III machine.  相似文献
