N-Widths and Average Widths of Besov Classes in Sobolev Spaces

In this paper, we consider the n-widths and average widths of Besov classes in the usual Sobolev spaces. The weak asymptotic results concerning the Kolmogorov n-widths, the linear n-widths, the Gel＇fand n-widths, in the Sobolev spaces on T^d, and the infinite-dimensional widths and the average widths in the Sobolev spaces on Ra are obtained, respectively.     

Bipyridinophane‐containing conjugated polymers modulated with an intramolecular aromatic C?H/π interaction

Bipyridinophane–fluorene conjugated copolymers have been synthesized via Suzuki and Heck coupling reactions from 5,8‐dibromo‐2,11‐dithia[3]paracyclo[3](4,4′)‐2,2′‐bipyridinophane and suitable fluorene precursors. Poly[2,7‐(9,9‐dihexylfluorene)‐co‐alt‐5,8‐(2,11‐dithia[3]paracyclo[3](4,4′)‐2,2′‐bipyridinophane)] ( P7 ) exhibits large absorption and emission redshifts of 20 and 34 nm, respectively, with respect to its planar reference polymer Poly[2,7‐(9,9‐dihexylfluorene)‐co‐alt‐1,4‐(2,5‐dimethylbenzene)] ( P11 ), which bears the same polymer backbone as P7 . These spectral shifts originate from intramolecular aromatic C? H/π interactions, which are evidenced by ultraviolet–visible and ¹H NMR spectra as well as X‐ray single‐crystal structural analysis. However, the effect of the intramolecular aromatic C? H/π interactions on the spectral shift in poly[9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐yleneethynylene‐co‐alt‐5,8‐(2,11‐dithia[3]paracyclo[3](4,4′)‐2,2′‐bipyridinophane)] ( P10 ) is much weaker. Most interestingly, the quenching behaviors of these two conjugated polymers are largely dependent on the polymer backbone. For example, the fluorescence of P7 is efficiently quenched by Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, Ni²⁺, Zn²⁺, Mn²⁺, and Ag⁺ ions. In contrast, only Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, and Ni²⁺ ions can partially quench the fluorescence of P10 , but much less efficiently than the fluorescence of P7 . The static Stern–Volmer quenching constants of Cu²⁺, Co²⁺, and Ni²⁺ ions toward P7 are of the order of 10⁶ M^?1, being 1300, 2500, and 37,300 times larger than those of P10 , respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Cyclic cohomology and algebra extensions

We construct a spectral sequence to study cyclic cohomology for an extension A = R/I of algebras. When R is a free algebra we describe the cyclic cohomology of A in terms of traces defined on R or powers of I. Explicit cyclic cocycles representing the cyclic cohomology class belonging to the trace are constructed as analogues of Chern character and Chern-Simons forms.Dedicated to Alexander Grothendieck     

RECURSIVE BAIRE CLASSIFICATION AND SPEEDABLE FUNCTIONS

Using recursive variants of Baire notions of nowhere dense and meagre sets we study the topological size of speedable and infinitely often speedable functions in a machine-independent framework. We show that the set of speedable functions is not “small” whereas the set of infinitely often speedable functions is “large”. In this way we offer partial answers to a question in [4].     

About the Notion of Semiring of Sets

We introduce a generalized notion of semiring and prove that all known properties that semirings have according to the old definition are preserved.     

An approximation property of harmonic functions in Lipschitz domains and some of its consequences

An extension of an inequality of J. B. Garnett (1979), with improvements by B. E. J. Dahlberg (1980), on an approximation property of harmonic functions is proved. The weighted inequality proved here was suggested by the work of J. Pipher (1993) and it implies an extension of a result of S. Y. A. Chang, J. Wilson and T. Wolff (1985) and C. Sweezy (1991) on exponential square integrability of the boundary values of solutions to second-order linear differential equations in divergence form. This implies a solution of a problem left open by R. Bañuelos and C. N. Moore (1989) on sharp estimates for the area integral of harmonic functions in Lipschitz domains.

用所谓的Hankel向量方法求解N[a,b]函数类中带边界插值数据的Nevanlina-Pick插值(BNP(N[a,b]))问题,并建立BNP(N[a,b])问题与[a,b]上的某种带约束条件的Hausdorff矩量问题之间等价的可解条件以及解之间明确的一一对应关系.这使得当BNP(N[a,b])问题有多解时,能通过带约束条件的矩量问题的可解性准则和解获得BNP(N[a,b])问题的可解性准则和解的参数化描述,而在唯一解的情况下,通过BNP(N[a,b])问题解的存在唯一性准则和唯一解来获得带约束条件的

On the Buchstaber Subring in MS p

A formula is given to calculate the last n number of symplectic characteristic classes of the tensor product of the vector Spin(3)- and Sp(n)-bundles through its first 2n number of characteristic classes and through characteristic classes of Sp(n)-bundle. An application of this formula is given in symplectic cobordisms and in rings of symplectic cobordisms of generalized quaternion groups.
