The paper outlines a procedure to identify the space-and time-dependent external nonstationary load acting on a closed circular
cylindrical shell of medium thickness. Time-dependent deflections at several points of the shell are used as input data to
solve the inverse problem. Examples of numerical identification of various nonstationary loads, including moving ones are
presented. The relationship between the external load and the stress-strain state of the shell is described by the Volterra
equation of the first kind. The identification problem is solved using Tikhonov's regularization method and Apartsin's h-regularization method

A fourth‐order compact finite difference scheme on the nine‐point 2D stencil is formulated for solving the steady‐state Navier–Stokes/Boussinesq equations for two‐dimensional, incompressible fluid flow and heat transfer using the stream function–vorticity formulation. The main feature of the new fourth‐order compact scheme is that it allows point‐successive overrelaxation (SOR) or point‐successive underrelaxation iteration for all Rayleigh numbers Ra of physical interest and all Prandtl numbers Pr attempted. Numerical solutions are obtained for the model problem of natural convection in a square cavity with benchmark solutions and compared with some of the accurate results available in the literature. The paper deals with a singularly perturbed reaction diffusionmodel problem. The focus is on reliable a posteriori error estimatorsfor the H1 seminorm that can be applied to anisotropic finiteelement meshes. A residual error estimator and a local problemerror estimator are proposed and rigorously analysed. They arelocally equivalent, and both bound the error reliably. Threemodifications of these estimators are introduced and discussed. Much attention is given to the performance of the error estimatorin numerical experiments. The main interest of this study is a new method to solve the axisymmetric frictionless contact problem of functionally graded
materials (FGMs). Based on the fact that an arbitrary curve can be approached by a series of continuous but piecewise linear
curves, the FGM is divided into a series of sub-layers with shear modulus varying linearly in each sub-layer and continuous
at the sub-interfaces. With this model, the axisymmetric frictionless contact problem of a functionally graded coated half-space
is investigated. By using the transfer matrix method and Hankel integral transform technique, the problem is reduced to a
Cauchy singular integral equation. The contact pressure, contact region and indentation are calculated for various indenters
by solving the equations numerically.

Finite element analysis of fluid flow with moving free surface has been performed in 2‐D and 3‐D. The new VOF‐based numerical algorithm that has been proposed by the present authors (Int. J. Numer. Meth. Fluids, submitted) was applied to several 2‐D and 3‐D free surface flow problems. The proposed free surface tracking scheme is based on two numerical tools; the orientation vector to represent the free surface orientation in each cell and the baby‐cell to determine the fluid volume flux at each cell boundary. The proposed numerical algorithm has been applied to 2‐D and 3‐D cavity filling and sloshing problems in order to demonstrate the versatility and effectiveness of the scheme. The proposed numerical algorithm resolved successfully the free surfaces interacting with each other. The simulated results demonstrated applicability of the proposed numerical algorithm to the practical problems of large free surface motion. It has been also demonstrated that the proposed free surface tracking scheme can be easily implemented in any irregular non‐uniform grid systems and can be extended to 3‐D free surface flow problems without additional efforts. We consider three known bounds for the quadratic assignment problem (QAP): an eigenvalue, a convex quadratic programming (CQP), and a semidefinite programming (SDP) bound. Since the last two bounds were not compared directly before, we prove that the SDP bound is stronger than the CQP bound. We then apply these to improve known bounds on a discrete energy minimization problem, reformulated as a QAP, which aims to minimize the potential energy between repulsive particles on a toric grid. Thus we are able to prove optimality for several configurations of particles and grid sizes, complementing earlier results by Bouman et al. (2013). The semidefinite programs in question are too large to solve without pre-processing, and we use a symmetry reduction method by Permenter and Parrilo (2020) to make computation of the SDP bounds possible. 相似文献

This paper presents an exact solution for the transverse interface crack in the plane strain case. The crack is perpendicular to the interface and in one material. The exact complex stress functions are first obtained with some unknown constants.
