The electron energy distribution function (EEDF) for a magnetically filtered dusty plasma is studied in a dusty double plasma device where the electron energy can be varied from 0.15 eV to ~ 2.8 eV and plasma density from 10 6 cm-3 to 10 9cm-3 . The characteristics of EEDF for these ranges of plasma parameters are investigated in a pristine plasma as well as in a dusty plasma. The results show that in the presence of dust, there is a drastic modification in EEDF patterns in a plasma with higher electron temperature and density than those in a low temperature and low density plasma produced by the magnetic filter.  相似文献

The recent study of He and You [P.-S. He and W.-L. You, Int. J. Mod. Phys. B26, 1250107 (2012)] on the relation between superfluid and condensate densities in a two-dimensional weakly interacting Boson system assumed a δ(x???x′) interaction between two particles at sites x and x′. The main purpose of this article is to point out the sensitivity of the conclusions of He and You to the choice of interaction. Thus, it is known for logarithmic interactions that one can have superfluidity without a condensate. Finally, some related ideas are mentioned in relation to superfluidity in liquid 4 He at exceedingly low temperatures.  相似文献

Abstract

The FT-Raman and FT-IR spectra of crystalline glutarimide and its N-deuterated derivative have been recorded in the range 4000-100 cm?1. A complete vibrational assignment is given for all internal modes and is supported by normal coordinate analysis based on a general valence force field. The calculated frequencies are in very good agreement with experiment. A close similarity is found for frequencies of the corresponding vibrations of glutarimide and uracils in the solid state. It is concluded that the strength of hydrogen bonding in glutarimide is very similar to that in crystalline pyrimidine nucleic bases.  相似文献

When simulating free‐surface flows using the finite element method, there are many cases where the governing equations require information which must be derived from the available discretized geometry. Examples are curvature or normal vectors. The accurate computation of this information directly from the finite element mesh often requires a high degree of refinement—which is not necessarily required to obtain an accurate flow solution. As a remedy and an option to be able to use coarser meshes, the representation of the free surface using non‐uniform rational B‐splines (NURBS) curves or surfaces is investigated in this work. The advantages of a NURBS parameterization in comparison with the standard approach are discussed. In addition, it is explored how the pressure jump resulting from surface tension effects can be handled using doubled interface nodes. Numerical examples include the computation of surface tension in a two‐phase flow as well as the computation of normal vectors as a basis for mesh deformation methods. For these examples, the improvement of the numerical solution compared with the standard approaches on identical meshes is shown. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

By sequentially adding line segments to a line or disks to a surface at random positions without overlaps, we obtain configurations of the one- and two-dimensional random sequential adsorption (RSA) problem. We have simulated the one- and two-dimensional problem with periodic boundary condition. The one-dimensional simulations are compared with the exact analytical solutions to give an estimate of the accuracy of the simulation. In two dimensions the geometrical properties of the RSA configuration are discussed and in addition known results of the RSA process are reproduced. Various statistical distributions of the Voronoi-Dirichlet (VD) network corresponding to the RSA disk configuration are analyzed. In order to characterize pores in the RSA configuration, we introduce circular holes. There is a direct correspondence between vertices of the VD network and these holes, and also between direct/indirect geometrical neighbors and these holes. The hole size distribution is found to be a parabola. We also find general relations that connect the asymptotic behavior of the surface coverage, the correlation function, and the hole size distribution.  相似文献

The spherical-model limitn of then-vector model in a random field, with either a statistically independent distribution or with long-range correlated random fields, is studied to demonstrate the correctness of the replica method in which then and replica limits limits are interchanged, provided the replica and thermodynamic limits are taken in the right order, in the case of long-range correlated random fields. A scaling form for the two-point correlation function relevant to the first-order phase transition below the lower critical dimensionality of the random system is also obtained.  相似文献

We use a mathematical isomorphism between the one-dimensional exclusion process and the two-dimensional stochastic Ising model in the low-temperature limit to describe the typical instantaneous shape of a supercritical droplet. We derive, specifically, the exact asymptotic distribution of the boundaries of a (+1) spin region, confined to Z + 2 and subjected to a positive magnetic field. The evolution of nonlinear Langmuir waves in the interplanetary medium is investigated by appropriately accounting for the random density irregularities of the medium. A pair of modified Zakharov equations, which describe these waves, is solved numerically as an initial value problem for large scale (≫ 102 km) initial pertubations. For an ion acoustic-Langmuir solitary wave, the random irregularities damp the Langmuir wave by way of scattering and let the ion density perturbation radiate away in a few days. However an initial solitary or shock-like Langmuir wave excites the ion density perturbations within a fraction of a second, and then itself gets damped. These effects will strongly decelerate the collapse of large scale Langmuir waves. The possibility of detecting these processes, by means of interplanetary scintillation, is discussed.
