Comment on “A new implementation of the Humlicek algorithm for the calculation of the Voigt profile function” by M. Kuntz [JQSRT 57(6) (1997) 819-824]

This note corrects six typographical errors in formulas for the calculation of the Voigt function in a previous paper in this journal by Kuntz (JQSRT 57(6), (1997) 819). The magnitude of the errors are identified.     

Accurate Analysis of Planar Microstrip Antenna Array

For the microstrip patch resonator, as a planar antenna of a microstrip, a set of equations that represents the electromagnetic fields in the x and z direction as function of the electric field in the y direction are obtained applying the TTL method. This method is very suitable at microwave and antenna applications, and gives accurate complex resonant frequency, which contributes definitively to obtain higher precision antenna parameters. For each type of array is calculated the array factor, considering the excitation, phase and the relative displacement between the elements as well as the dimensions and number of elements.     

Homology in Abelian Lattice Models

We study Abelian lattice gauge theory defined on a simplicial complex with arbitrary topology. The use of dual objects allows one to reformulate the theory in terms of different dynamical variables; however, we avoid entirely the use of the dual cell complex. Topological modes which are present in the transformation now appear as homology classes, in contrast to the cohomology modes found in the dual cell picture. Irregularities of dual cell complexes do not arise in this approach. We treat the two and three-dimensional cases in detail, and prove a general vanishing theorem for Wilson line correlators.

A NONMOTOTONE ALGORITHM FOR MINIMIZING NONSMOOTH COMPOSITE FUNCTIONS

In this paper, we present a nonmonotone algorithm for solving nonsmooth composite optimization problems. The objective function of these problems is composited by a nonsmooth convex function and a differentiable function. The method generates the search directions by solving quadratic programming successively, and makes use of the nonmonotone line search instead of the usual Armijo-type line search. Global convergence is proved under standard assumptions. Numerical results are given.     

碱性染料显色剂超高灵敏显色反应的研究 Ⅱ.Bi(Ⅲ)—I~-—BRB—ArG—Tritonx—100体系

本文研究了用阿拉伯树胶(ArG)代替聚乙烯醇(PVA—124),与Tritonx—100共存下的BiI~-_4和碱性染料丁基罗丹明B(BRB)显色体系。结果表明,该缔合物的表观摩尔吸光系数在λ_(max)=600nm,ε_(600nm)=1.84×10~6L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1),为现有水相光度法中灵敏度最高值。Bi(Ⅲ)含量在0～1.6μg/25ml范围内符合Beer定律。同时,作了水质、试剂和人工混合液中铋的回收试验。稳定性和回收率较PVA—Tritonx—100体系有所提高,结果尚满意。
