Some Remarks on Complex Crowns of Riemannian Symmetric Spaces

We discuss several results and problems in which complex geometric constructions appear in the geometry of real pseudo Riemannian symmetric spaces in connection with analysis on such spaces.     

The monotone convergence theorem for multidimensional abstract Kurzweil vector integrals

We prove two versions of the Monotone Convergence Theorem for the vector integral of Kurzweil, , where R is a compact interval of , and f are functions with values on L(Z,W) and Z respectively, and Z and W are monotone ordered normed spaces. Analogous results can be obtained for the Kurzweil vector integral, , as well as to unbounded intervals R.     

Marked length rigidity for symmetric spaces

We give conditions under which a homomorphism between two Zariski dense subgroups of connected semisimple Lie groups G and G' without compact factors and with trivial center can be extended to a continuous isomorphism between G and G'. In particular we prove the marked length rigidity and the marked translation vector rigidity. This last result was motivated by a Margulis‚s question. Received: September 18, 2001     

Neighborhood assignments and cardinal functions: a unified approach to metrization and uniformity

We use neighborhood assignments and cardinal functions to give a unified approach to metrizability and uniformity. This leads to a number of characterizations of m(X), the metrizability degree of X, u(X), the uniform weight of X, and w(X), the weight of X. For X normal (and regular), m(X) = u(X); it is unknown whether this result extends to completely regular spaces.     

A problem in extremal quasiconformal extensions

A constantK ₀ ^(m) (h) is introduced for every quasisymmetric mappingh of the unit circle and every integerm≥4 which contains the constantK ₀(h) (indicated by the change in module of the quadrilaterals with vertices on the circle) as a special case. A necessary and sufficient condition is established forK ₀ ^(m) (h) =K ₁(h). It is shown that there are infinitely many quasisymmetric mappings of the unit circle having the property thatK ₀ ^(m) (h)<K ₁(h), wherek ₁(h) is the maximal dilatation ofh.     

On the boundedness of rough oscillatory singular integrals on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces

We obtain appropriate sharp bounds on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces for rough oscillatory integrals with polynomial phase. By using these bounds and using an extrapolation argument we obtain some new and previously known results for oscillatory integrals under very weak size conditions on the kernel functions.     

ON COMPACT COMPOSITION OPERATORS ON A CLASS OF HOLOMORPHIC FUNCTION SPACES OVER THE UNIT BALL IN C~n

In this paper, a general function space X(B n ) over the unit ball in C n with norm · X(Bn) is introduced. It contains all Hardy space, Bergman space, Besov space etc. The author gives a formulation of a compact composition operator on X(B n ), related to works of [8] and [10].     

The IVP for the Benjamin-Ono equation in weighted Sobolev spaces

We study the initial value problem associated to the Benjamin-Ono equation. The aim is to establish persistence properties of the solution flow in the weighted Sobolev spaces , s∈R, s?1 and s?r. We also prove some unique continuation properties of the solution flow in these spaces. In particular, these continuation principles demonstrate that our persistence properties are sharp.
