New symmetric 2-(176,50,14) designs

In this paper, we construct two new symmetric designs with parameters 2-$(176,50,14)$ as designs invariant under certain subgroups of the full automorphism group of the Higman design. One is self-dual and has the full automorphism group of order 11520 and the other one is not self-dual and has the full automorphism group of order 2520.     

Weakly dual automorphism invariant and superfluous cotightness

Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to introduce and study the dual concepts of weakly automorphism invariant modules and essential tightness. These notions are non-trivial generalizations of both weakly projectivity, dual automorphism invariant property and cotightness. We obtain certain relations between weakly projective modules, weakly dual automorphism invariant modules and superfluous cotight modules. It is proved that: (1) for right perfect rings, every module is a direct summand of a weakly dual automorphism invariant module and (2) weakly dual automorphism invariant modules are precisely superfluous cotight modules.

Topological rigidity of linear cellular automaton shifts

We prove that topologically isomorphic linear cellular automaton shifts are algebraically isomorphic. Using this, we show that two distinct such shifts cannot be isomorphic. We conclude that the automorphism group of a linear cellular automaton shift is a finitely generated abelian group.     

A new class of transitive graphs

Let n and k be integers with n≥k≥0. This paper presents a new class of graphs H(n,k), which contains hypercubes and some well-known graphs, such as Johnson graphs, Kneser graphs and Petersen graph, as its subgraphs. The authors present some results of algebraic and topological properties of H(n,k). For example, H(n,k) is a Cayley graph, the automorphism group of H(n,k) contains a subgroup of order 2ⁿn! and H(n,k) has a maximal connectivity and is hamiltonian if k is odd; it consists of two isomorphic connected components if k is even. Moreover, the diameter of H(n,k) is determined if k is odd.     

A note on the automorphism groups of cubic Cayley graphs of finite simple groups

For a finite group G, a Cayley graph on G is said to be normal if . In this note, we prove that connected cubic non-symmetric Cayley graphs of the ten finite non-abelian simple groups G in the list of non-normal candidates given in [X.G. Fang, C.H. Li, J. Wang, M.Y. Xu, On cubic Cayley graphs of finite simple groups, Discrete Math. 244 (2002) 67-75] are normal.
