We analytically study the quantum phase diagrams of ultracold dipolar Bose gases in an optical square lattice at zero temperature by using the generalized effective-potential Landau theory (GEPLT). For a weak nearest-neighbor repulsion, our analytical results are better than the third-order strong-coupling expansion theory calculation. In contrast to a previous quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) simulation, we analytically calculate phase transition boundaries up to the third-order hopping, which are in excellent agreement with QMC simulations for second-order phase transition. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe Coupled-Cluster (CC) theory is one of the most successful high precision methods used to solve the stationary Schrödinger equation. In this article, we address the mathematical foundation of this theory with focus on the advances made in the past decade. Rather than solely relying on spectral gap assumptions (non-degeneracy of the ground state), we highlight the importance of coercivity assumptions – Gårding type inequalities – for the local uniqueness of the CC solution. Based on local strong monotonicity, different sufficient conditions for a local unique solution are suggested. One of the criteria assumes the relative smallness of the total cluster amplitudes (after possibly removing the single amplitudes) compared to the Gårding constants. In the extended CC theory the Lagrange multipliers are wave function parameters and, by means of the bivariational principle, we here derive a connection between the exact cluster amplitudes and the Lagrange multipliers. This relation might prove useful when determining the quality of a CC solution. Furthermore, the use of an Aubin–Nitsche duality type method in different CC approaches is discussed and contrasted with the bivariational principle. 相似文献

The accuracy of the Duh-Haymet-Henderson (DHH) integral equation theory for predicting the cavity correlation functions of mixtures has been tested by comparison with molecular simulations. We have compared the cavity correlation functions, internal energies, and pressures computed for Lennard-Jones model mixtures of Ar/Kr, Ar/Ne, and Ar/Xe with these same quantities computed from the DHH theory and also, for reference, the Percus-Yevick (PY) integral equation theory. We found that DHH gave much better accuracy than PY at high densities. At low densities DHH and PY give essentially identical predictions. We have computed excess volumes for Ar/Kr mixtures at two pressures (10 and 20?MPa) at 132.32?K, for which experimentally derived data are available. The DHH theory predicts the correct trends and is quantitatively more accurate than the PY theory for predicting the excess volumes. We have tested the local optimality of the DHH theory for pure fluids by adding two adjustable parameters to the DHH bridge function expression to see if it is possible to improve the DHH predictions of the cavity correlation function empirically, holding the form of the bridge function constant. We found that no single set of adjustable parameter values could improve the accuracy of DHH over multiple different isotherms. Furthermore, perturbing DHH leads to a decrease in accuracy of the predictions of both the pressure and energy, although small improvements in the cavity correlation functions were achieved. Discrete support vector machines (DSVM), originally proposed for binary classification problems, have been shown to outperform
other competing approaches on well-known benchmark datasets. Here we address their extension to multicategory classification,
by developing three different methods. Two of them are based respectively on one-against-all and round-robin classification schemes, in which a number of binary discrimination problems are solved by means of a variant of DSVM. The
third method directly addresses the multicategory classification task, by building a decision tree in which an optimal split
to separate classes is derived at each node by a new extended formulation of DSVM. Computational tests on publicly available
datasets are then conducted to compare the three multicategory classifiers based on DSVM with other methods, indicating that
the proposed techniques achieve significantly higher accuracies.

In this contribution we investigate higher-order loss characteristics for M/G/1/N queueing systems. We focus on the lengths of the loss and non-loss periods as well as on the number of arrivals during these
periods. For the analysis, we extend the Markovian state of the queueing system with the time and number of admitted arrivals
since the instant where the last loss occurred. By combining transform and matrix techniques, expressions for the various
moments of these loss characteristics are found. The approach also yields expressions for the loss probability and the conditional

Configurations, stabilities and adsorption mechanisms of ground-state MonN and MonN2 (n?=?1–8) clusters are calculated by using the density functional method within the PBE level. Evidently, N atoms tend to approach more Mo atoms. Doping with two N impurity prefers to occupy symmetrical position of the host Mon (n?=?1–8) cluster except for Mo2N2 clusters. Mo4N, Mo6N, Mo2N2, Mo4N2 and Mo6N2 clusters have higher structural stabilities than their neighbors by the second derivative of total binding energy. Mo2N, Mo4N and Mo7N, Mo2N2, Mo5N2 and Mo7N2 clusters have higher kinetic reactivity than their neighbors by the HOMO–LUMO gaps. Physicians use clinical guidelines to inform judgment about therapy. Clinical guidelines do not address three important uncertainties: (1) uncertain relevance of tested populations to the individual patient, (2) the patient’s uncertain preferences among possible outcomes, and (3) uncertain subjective and financial costs of intervention. Unreliable probabilistic information is available for some of these uncertainties; no probabilities are available for others. The uncertainties are in the values of parameters and in the shapes of functions. We explore the usefulness of info-gap decision theory in patient-physician decision making in managing cholesterol level using clinical guidelines. Info-gap models of uncertainty provide versatile tools for quantifying diverse uncertainties. Info-gap theory provides two decision functions for evaluating alternative therapies. The robustness function assesses the confidence—in light of uncertainties—in attaining acceptable outcomes. The opportuneness function assesses the potential for better-than-anticipated outcomes. Both functions assist in forming preferences among alternatives. Hypothetical case studies demonstrate that decisions using the guidelines and based on best estimates of the expected utility are sometimes, but not always, consistent with robustness and opportuneness analyses. The info-gap analysis provides guidance when judgment suggests that a deviation from the guidelines would be productive. Finally, analysis of uncertainty can help resolve ambiguous situations. 相似文献

In this paper, for multiple attribute decision-making problem in which attribute values are interval grey numbers and some of them are null values, a decision model based on grey rough sets integration with incomplete information is proposed. We put forward incidence degree coefficient formula for grey interval, by information entropy theory and analysis technique, the method and principle is presented to fill up null values. We also establish the method of grey interval incidence cluster. Because grey system theory and Rough set theory are complementary each other, decision table with preference information is obtained by the result of grey incidence cluster. An algorithm for inducing decision rules based on rough set theory and the dominance relationship is presented. In some extent, this algorithm can deal with decision-making problem in which the attribute values are interval grey numbers and some of them are null values. Contrasted with classical model of cluster decision-making, the algorithm has an advantage of flexibility and compatibility to new information. 相似文献
