Carleson Measures for the Bloch Space

In this paper we study the positive Borel measures μ on the unit disc in for which the Bloch space is continuously included in , 0 < p < ∞. We call such measures p-Bloch-Carleson measures. We give two conditions on a measure μ in terms of certain logarithmic integrals one of which is a necessary condition and the other a sufficient condition for μ being a p-Bloch-Carleson measure. We also give a complete characterization of the p-Bloch-Carleson measures within certain special classes of measures. It is also shown that, for p > 1, the p-Bloch-Carleson measures are exactly those for which the Toeplitz operator , defined by , maps continuously into the Bergman space A ¹, . Furthermore, we prove that if p > 1, α >-1 and ω is a weight which satisfies the Bekollé-Bonami -condition, then the measure defined by is a p-Bloch-Carleson-measure. We also consider the Banach space of those functions f which are analytic in and satisfy , as . The Bloch space is contained in . We describe the p-Carleson measures for and study weighted composition operators and a class of integration operators acting in this space. We determine which of these operators map continuously to the weighted Bergman space and show that they are automatically compact. Bell polynomials and binomial type sequences

This paper concerns the study of the Bell polynomials and the binomial type sequences. We mainly establish some relations tied to these important concepts. Furthermore, these obtained results are exploited to deduce some interesting relations concerning the Bell polynomials which enable us to obtain some new identities for the Bell polynomials. Our results are illustrated by some comprehensive examples.     

Cauchy, Ferrers-Jackson and Chebyshev polynomials and identities for the powers of elements of some conjugate recurrence sequences

In this paper some decompositions of Cauchy polynomials, Ferrers-Jackson polynomials and polynomials of the form x ²ⁿ + y ²ⁿ , n ∈ ℕ, are studied. These decompositions are used to generate the identities for powers of Fibonacci and Lucas numbers as well as for powers of the so called conjugate recurrence sequences. Also, some new identities for Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind are presented here.     

n-Colour self-inverse compositions

MacMahon’s definition of self-inverse composition is extended ton-colour self-inverse composition. This introduces four new sequences which satisfy the same recurrence relation with different initial conditions like the famous Fibonacci and Lucas sequences. For these new sequences explicit formulas, recurrence relations, generating functions and a summation formula are obtained. Two new binomial identities with combinatorial meaning are also given.     

The Fibonacci sequence modulo π, chaos and some rational recursive equations

In this paper, we provide the closed form solution to the inter-related equations Both of these equations were suggested as open problems in the book by Kocic and Ladas [V.L. Kocic, G. Ladas, Global Behavior of Nonlinear Difference Equations of High Order with Applications, Kluwer Academic, Dordrecht, 1993]. We also give the closed form solution to the equations studied by X. Li and D. Zhu [X. Li, D. Zhu, Two rational recursive sequences, Comput. Math. Appl. 47 (2004) 1487–1494].     

On a differential-algebraic problem

The method of quasilinearization is a procedure for obtaining approximate solutions of differential equations. In this paper, this technique is applied to a differential-algebraic problem. Under some natural assumptions, monotone sequences converge quadratically to a unique solution of our problem.

On sequences of Hurwitz polynomials related to orthogonal polynomials

ABSTRACT

In this contribution, we explore the well-known connection between Hurwitz and orthogonal polynomials. Namely, given a Hurwitz polynomial, it is shown that it can be decomposed into two parts: a polynomial that is orthogonal with respect to some positive measure supported in the positive real axis and its corresponding second-kind polynomial. Conversely, given a sequence of orthogonal polynomials with respect to a positive measure supported in the positive real axis, a sequence of Hurwitz polynomials can be constructed. Based on that connection, we construct sequences of Hurwitz polynomials that satisfy a recurrence relation, in a similar way as the orthogonal polynomials do. Even more, we present a way to construct families of Hurwitz polynomials using two sequences of parameters and a recurrence relation that constitutes an analogue of Favard's theorem in the theory of orthogonal polynomials.
