Motivated by computing iterative roots for general continuous functions, in this paper we prove the continuity of the iteration operators Tn, defined by Tnf=fn. We apply the continuity and introduce the concept of continuity degree to answer positively the approximation question: If limm→∞Fm=F, can we find an iterative root fm of Fm of order n for each m∈N such that the sequence (fm) tends to the iterative root of F of order n associated with a given initial function? We not only give the construction of such an approximating sequence (fm) but also illustrate the approximation of iterative roots with an example. A stochastic ratio-dependent predator-prey model is investigated in this paper. By the comparison theorem of stochastic equations and Itô’s formula, we obtain the global existence of a positive unique solution of the ratio-dependent model. Besides, a condition for species to be extinct is given and a persistent condition is established. We also conclude that both the prey population and the ratio-dependent function are stable in time average. In the end, numerical simulations are carried out to confirm our findings. 相似文献

This paper proposes a descent method to solve a class of structured monotone variational inequalities. The descent directions are constructed from the iterates generated by a prediction-correction method [B.S. He, Y. Xu, X.M. Yuan, A logarithmic-quadratic proximal prediction-correction method for structured monotone variational inequalities, Comput. Optim. Appl. 35 (2006) 19-46], which is based on the logarithmic-quadratic proximal method. In addition, the optimal step-sizes along these descent directions are identified to accelerate the convergence of the new method. In this paper, we study a dimensionally scaled helium atom model for excited states of helium. The mathematical analysis of the corresponding effective energy potential is presented. Two simple numerical algorithms are developed for the computation of the excited states of helium. Various simulation methods for tempered stable random variates with stability index greater than one are investigated with a view towards practical implementation, in particular cases of very small scale parameter, which correspond to increments of a tempered stable Lévy process with a very short stepsize. Methods under consideration are based on acceptance-rejection sampling, a Gaussian approximation of a small jump component, and infinite shot noise series representations. Numerical results are presented to discuss advantages, limitations and trade-off issues between approximation error and required computing effort. With a given computing budget, an approximative acceptance-rejection sampling technique Baeumer and Meerschaert (2009) [11] is both most efficient and handiest in the case of very small scale parameter and moreover, any desired level of accuracy may be attained with a small amount of additional computing effort. 相似文献

We show that if the Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem is solvable by a function mapping into a compact subset of the unit disc, then the problem remains solvable with the addition of any number of boundary interpolation conditions, provided the boundary interpolation values have modulus less than unity. We give new, inductive proofs of the Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem with any finite number of interpolation points in the interior and on the boundary of the domain of interpolation (the right half plane or unit disc), with function values and any finite number of derivatives specified. Our solutions are analytic on the closure of the domain of interpolation. Our proofs only require a minimum of matrix theory and operator theory. We also give new, straightforward algorithms for obtaining minimal H∞ norm solutions. Finally, some numerical examples are given. 相似文献
