In this note we consider a free discontinuity problem for a scalar function, whose energy depends also on the size of the jump. We prove that the gradient of every smooth local minimizer never exceeds a constant, determined only by the data of the problem.  相似文献

This paper deals with the field enhancement due to insertion of a bow-tie structure of perfectly conducting inclusions into the two-dimensional space with a given field. The field enhancement is represented by the gradient blow-up of a solution to the conductivity problem. The bow-tie structure consists of two disjoint bounded domains which have corners with possibly different aperture angles. The domains are parts of cones near the vertices which are nearly touching to each other. We construct functions explicitly which characterize the field enhancement. As consequences, we derive optimal estimates of the gradient in terms of the distance between two inclusions and aperture angles of the corners. The estimates show in quantitatively precise way that the field is enhanced beyond the corner singularities due to the interaction between two inclusions, and the blow-up rate is much higher than the one for the case of inclusions with smooth boundaries.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the study of plasticity models described by differential equations with stop and play operators. We suggest sufficient conditions for the global stability of a unique periodic solution for the scalar models and for the vector models with biaxial inputs of a particular form, namely the sum of a uniaxial function and a constant term. For another class of simple biaxial inputs, we present an example of the existence of unstable periodic solutions. The paper was written during the research stay of D. By incorporating the Monotone Upwind Scheme of Conservation Law (MUSCL) scheme into the smoothed particles hydrodynamics (SPH) method and making use of an interparticle contact algorithm, we present a MUSCL–SPH scheme of second order for multifluid computations, which extends the Riemann‐solved‐based SPH method. The numerical tests demonstrate high accuracy and resolution of the scheme for both shocks, contact discontinuities, and rarefaction waves in the one‐dimensional shock tube problem. For the two‐dimensional cylindrical Noh and shock‐bubble interaction problems, the MUSCL–SPH scheme can resolve shocks well. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the antiplane shear deformations of a piezoelectric cylinder in frictional contact with a foundation. The process is mechanically dynamic and electrically static, the material behavior is described with a linearly electro-viscoelastic constitutive law, the contact is frictional and the foundation is assumed to be electrically conductive. Both the friction and the electrical conductivity condition on the contact surface are described with subdifferential boundary conditions. We derive a variational formulation of the problem which is of the form of a system coupling a second order hemivariational inequality for the displacement field with a time-dependent hemivariational inequality for the electric potential field. Then we prove the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. The proof is based on abstract results for second order evolutionary inclusions in Banach spaces. Finally, we present concrete examples of friction laws and electrical conductivity conditions for which our result is valid.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the mixed initial–boundary value problem for semilinear wave equations with complementary frictional dampings and memory effects. We successfully establish uniform exponential and polynomial decay rates for the solutions to this initial–boundary value problem under much weak conditions concerning memory effects. More specifically, we obtain the exponential and polynomial decay rates after removing the fundamental condition that the memory-effect region includes a part of the system boundary, while the condition is a necessity in the previous literature; moreover, for the polynomial decay rates we only assume minimal conditions on the memory kernel function g, without the usual assumption of g controlled by g.  相似文献
