相型同步启动时间的M／M／c排队系统

本文研究带有同步启动时间的Ｍ／Ｍ／ｃ系统，其中启动时间是相型变量，给出了稳态和等待时间分布等结果。     

Algebraic models defined over Q of differential manifolds

Here we prove that every compact differential manifold has a smooth algebraic model defined over Q. In dimension 2 we find an algebraic model (may be singular) defined over Q and birational over Q to the projective plane.     

Gamma-rays from Mössbauer sources: a low-dose approach to cancer therapy

Summary A new approach to cancer treatment using low-energy gamma-rays is discussed. Cultures of bone marrow mononuclear cells collected from normal donors and patients with chronic myelogenous leukaemia have been studied after the addition of hematin, at different concentrations, and irradiation by a M?ssbauer gamma-ray source. Growth stimulation has been observed when hematin is added to normal bone marrow cultures, while growth inhibition is observed when hematin is added to leukaemic cultures. The effect becomes then more pronounced when hematin is used in combination with M?ssbauer gamma-rays.     

Deciding Frattini is NP-complete

We show that it is a NP-complete problem to decide whether a finite poset arises as the (Birkhoff) dual of the Frattini sublattice of some finite distributive lattice.This work was supported in part by Swiss NSF grant 20-32644.91.     

A multiple character sum and a multipleL-function

In this paper we introduce a certain sum by using Dirichlet characters. We investigate the Riesz mean of the sum using the analytic properties of the MultipleL-function systematically. Eine überarbeitete Fassung ging am 6. 8. 2001 ein     

Numerical and theoretical study of a Dual Mesh Method using finite volume schemes for two phase flow problems in porous media

Summary. In this paper we are interested in two phase flow problems in porous media. We use a Dual Mesh Method to discretize this problem with finite volume schemes. In a simplified case (elliptic - hyperbolic system) we prove the convergence of approximate solutions to the exact solutions. We use the Dual Mesh Method in physically complex problems (heterogeneous cases with non constant total mobility). We validate numerically the Dual Mesh Method on practical examples by computing error estimates for different test-cases. Received March 21, 1997 / Revised version received October 13, 1997     

Finite-gap Solutions of the Fuchsian Equations

We find a new class of Fuchsian equations, with algebro-geometric solutions associated to a hyperelliptic curve. A method for calculating its arithmetic genus and branching points is suggested. Numerous examples are given.     

Formation of Fe i –B pairs in silicon at high temperatures

We report on the detection of Fe _i –B pairs in heavily B doped silicon using ⁵⁷Fe emission Mössbauer spectroscopy following implantation of radioactive ⁵⁷Mn⁺ parent ions (T _1/2?=?1.5 min) at elevated temperatures >?850 K. The Fe _i –B pairs are formed upon the dissociation of Fe _i –V pairs during the lifetime of the Mössbauer state (T _1/2?=?100 ns). The resulting free interstitial Fe_i diffuses over sufficiently large distances during the lifetime of the Mössbauer state to encounter a substitutional B impurity atom, forming Fe _i –B pairs, which are stable up to ～1,050 K on that time scale.     

Steady state analysis of an M/G/1 queue with two phase service and Bernoulli vacation schedule under multiple vacation policy

This paper examines the steady state behaviour of a batch arrival queue with two phases of heterogeneous service along and Bernoulli schedule vacation under multiple vacation policy, where after two successive phases service or first vacation the server may go for further vacations until it finds a new batch of customer in the system. We carry out an extensive stationary analysis of the system, including existence of stationary regime, queue size distribution of idle period process, embedded Markov chain steady state distribution of stationary queue size, busy period distribution along with some system characteristics.     

Interpolation of Bilinear Operators Between Quasi-Banach Spaces

We study interpolation, generated by an abstract method of means, of bilinear operators between quasi-Banach spaces. It is shown that under suitable conditions on the type of these spaces and the boundedness of the classical convolution operator between the corresponding quasi-Banach sequence spaces, bilinear interpolation is possible. Applications to the classical real method spaces, Calderón-Lozanovsky spaces, and Lorentz-Zygmund spaces are presented.
