We analyze the extent to which a quantum universal enveloping algebra of a Kac–Moody algebra gg is defined by multidegrees of its defining relations. To this end, we consider a class of character Hopf algebras defined by the same number of defining relations of the same degrees as the Kac–Moody algebra gg. We demonstrate that if the generalized Cartan matrix AA of gg is connected then the algebraic structure, up to a finite number of exceptional cases, is defined by just one “continuous” parameter qq related to a symmetrization of AA, and one “discrete” parameter mm related to the modular symmetrizations of AA. The Hopf algebra structure is defined by n(n−1)/2n(n1)/2 additional “continuous” parameters. We also consider the exceptional cases for Cartan matrices of finite or affine types in more detail, establishing the number of exceptional parameter values in terms of the Fibonacci sequence.  相似文献

In an atomic, cancellative, commutative monoid, the ω-value measures how far an element is from being prime. In numerical monoids, we show that this invariant exhibits eventual quasilinearity (i.e., periodic linearity). We apply this result to describe the asymptotic behavior of the ω-function for a general numerical monoid and give an explicit formula when the monoid has embedding dimension 2.  相似文献

There are several theorems describing the intricate relationship between flatness and associated primes over commutative Noetherian rings. However, associated primes are known to act badly over non-Noetherian rings, so one needs a suitable replacement. In this paper, we show that the behavior of strong Krull primes most closely resembles that of associated primes over a Noetherian ring. We prove an analogue of a theorem of Epstein and Yao characterizing flat modules in terms of associated primes by replacing them with strong Krull primes. Also, we partly generalize a classical equational theorem regarding flat base change and associated primes in Noetherian rings. That is, when associated primes are replaced by strong Krull primes, we show containment in general and equality in many special cases. One application is of interest over any Noetherian ring of prime characteristic. We also give numerous examples to show that our results fail if other popular generalizations of associated primes are used in place of strong Krull primes.  相似文献

In this paper we establish a new characterisation of star-regular categories, using a property of internal reflexive graphs, which is suggested by a recent result due to O. Ngaha Ngaha and the first author. We show that this property is, in a suitable sense, invariant under regular completion of a category in the sense of A. Carboni and E.M. Vitale. Restricting to pointed categories, where star-regularity becomes normality in the sense of the second author, this reveals an unusual behaviour of the exactness property of normality (i.e. the property that regular epimorphisms are normal epimorphisms) compared to other closely related exactness properties studied in categorical algebra.  相似文献

The Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality describes a subtle embedding property into . The relation between the Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality and the real interpolation functor together with the sharpness of the results is discussed in the present paper. As our first main results shows, it turns out that there are two intermediate terms between and the logarithmic boundedness, which is supposed to be the right‐hand side of the Brézis‐Gallouët‐Wainger inequality. As the second result, the first result is extended to inequalities which reflect the meaning of the second index of Besov spaces and the interpolation theorem.  相似文献

In this work we derive new comparison results for (finite) eigenvalues of two self‐adjoint linear Hamiltonian eigenvalue problems. The coefficient matrices depend on the spectral parameter nonlinearly and the spectral parameter is present also in the boundary conditions. We do not impose any controllability or strict normality assumptions. Our method is based on a generalization of the Sturmian comparison theorem for such systems. The results are new even for the Dirichlet boundary conditions, for linear Hamiltonian systems depending linearly on the spectral parameter, and for Sturm–Liouville eigenvalue problems with nonlinear dependence on the spectral parameter.  相似文献
